Portfolio Manager Jobs in Dallas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a portfolio manager job in Dallas?
Focus your search on Dallas's dense cluster of registered investment advisors, family offices, and regional banks headquartered in Uptown and the Turtle Creek corridor, then expand to the insurance and pension funds concentrated in downtown. Candidates who hold a CFA charter or are actively enrolled stand out most in this market. Networking through the CFA Society Dallas chapter gives you direct access to hiring managers at the firms posting these roles.
Which companies hire portfolio managers in Dallas?
Dallas portfolio manager roles are posted by Huntington Bank, Bank of Hope, and Sixth Street and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. The local employer mix skews heavily toward independent RIAs, regional wealth management boutiques, and the investment arms of large insurance carriers that have made Dallas a major operations hub.
Are there remote portfolio manager jobs in Dallas?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on strategy type, since discretionary equity and credit roles typically require in-office collaboration while quantitative and model-driven positions lean more remote-friendly. About 18% of portfolio manager openings tied to Dallas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with hybrid schedules most common at the large asset managers and insurance firms anchored downtown and in North Dallas.
How can I get a portfolio manager job in Dallas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Dallas is landing an investment analyst or associate analyst role at one of the city's mid-size RIAs or regional bank trust departments, where smaller teams mean faster exposure to actual portfolio construction. Firms in the Uptown corridor and along Preston Road regularly hire analysts who are CFA Level I candidates. Building a model portfolio and presenting it during interviews is the differentiator that moves candidates past the screening stage locally.
Which industries hire the most portfolio managers in Dallas?
Most portfolio manager openings in Dallas sit in Banking & Financial Services, Investment & Asset Management, and Consulting & Professional Services, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Dallas's position as a major insurance and financial services headquarters city, combined with a growing private equity and family office scene concentrated in Uptown and Preston Center, drives consistent demand across those sectors.
