Entry Level Principal Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level principal job?
Focus on building a portfolio that demonstrates real decision-making, whether through internships, academic projects, or volunteer leadership. Employers hiring at this level look for candidates who can show they've contributed to a team goal, communicated clearly with stakeholders, and taken ownership of a defined scope. Tailoring your resume to highlight those moments, even from part-time or campus roles, gives you a concrete edge.
Which companies hire entry level principals?
Companies hiring entry level principals right now include Oracle, IDEA Public Schools, and Saviynt, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Hiring at this level tends to come from a mix of school districts, educational management organizations, and private institutions that regularly onboard candidates early in their careers.
Are there remote entry level principal jobs?
Yes, though most principal roles at this level are on-site by nature. About 11% of entry level principal openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, which can include administrative, curriculum coordination, or instructional coaching roles that don't require daily in-person presence. Searching by work setting on Migrate Mate lets you find those listings quickly.
Are these new grad principal jobs?
Yes. Many listings in this category are new grad and junior roles that explicitly welcome recent graduates with zero to two years of experience, internships, or a strong portfolio in lieu of a long work history. A posting is new-grad friendly when it lists a bachelor's degree as the primary requirement, omits a minimum years-of-experience threshold, or invites candidates from student teaching or administrative internship backgrounds.
Which industries hire the most entry level principals?
Entry level principal roles concentrate in Education, Technology & Software, and Energy, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Those sectors drive the most hiring at this level because they maintain large institutional footprints that require early-career leadership talent to support growth, turnover, and program expansion.
