Picking Assistant Manager
Location: 2001 Theurer Blvd, Winona, MN 55987
MN100 Distribution Center
Full-time Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU FRI SAT SUN All Hours Available
Overview:
Find your future at Fastenal! Our distribution center is hiring energetic, team oriented individuals to work in our fast pace warehouse! Working as Full-time Picking Assistant Manager, you will assist in managing the Picking department. After a branch places an order, the Picking department is responsible for picking the requested quantity, packing the order, printing a label with a routing number and sending the product to the Sortation department. You will motivate and provide leadership to team members to ensure day-to-day operations are completed safely, accurately, efficiently and on time. Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Motivating and leading team members
- Coordinating employees, including scheduling, hiring and exiting
- Ensuring day-to-day operations are completed
- Communicating with employees and branches
- Picking orders and packing product efficiently and accurately
- Operating computer programs, scanners and printers to label product
- Using a scale for weighing product
- Analyzing staffing needs, reports and projections to optimize output and meet department goals
- Utilizing data to implement changes and identify areas for improvement
- Maintaining the cleanliness/organization of work area
- Complying with health, safety and sustainability rules and expectations
- Participating in activities and programs that help the company achieve health, safety and sustainability objectives
- Learning, passing, and practicing various environmental health and safety trainings
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:
- Possess prior leadership or management work experience
- Knowledge of computer operations, including warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office Applications
- Proficient written and oral communication skills
- Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
- Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented
- Lead and motivate a team of employees
- Work independently as well as in a team environment
- Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills
- Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities
- Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule/extra time as needed
- Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork
- Lift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 100lbs
- Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)
PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior experience operating a forklift
- Prior warehouse work experience

FULL-TIME BENEFITS:
Fastenal offers a competitive benefits package to all full-time employees. This package includes Health, Life, Long Term Disability, and Dental Insurance, in addition to, paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, and 401(k) with an employer contribution.
COMPENSATION:
The base pay range for this position is $57,000 - 65,000. In addition to base pay, this position is also eligible for a bonus and/or commission.
