Product Development Intern Jobs in Idaho: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a product development intern in Idaho?
Most product development intern roles in Idaho require active enrollment in or recent completion of a bachelor's degree in engineering, business, industrial design, or a related field. Idaho does not require a state-issued license for this internship role. Candidates strengthen their applications by completing coursework in product lifecycle management, building a portfolio of class or personal projects, and seeking out programs at Idaho universities such as Boise State University or the University of Idaho that partner directly with regional employers on applied product development work.
Which companies hire product development interns in Idaho?
Employers hiring product development interns in Idaho right now include ICCU, Fred Meyer, and Saint Alphonsus Health System, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Idaho's mix of semiconductor manufacturing, food processing, and consumer goods companies means intern programs tend to focus on tangible, physical product cycles rather than purely digital development.
Which Idaho cities have the most product development intern jobs?
Idaho Falls, Boise, and Lewiston account for the largest share of product development intern openings in Idaho. Boise drives the majority of listings as Idaho's largest metro and home to Micron Technology's manufacturing operations and a growing consumer tech startup ecosystem, while Nampa and Idaho Falls contribute openings tied to agricultural technology firms and regional food processing and manufacturing companies that run structured intern cohorts.
Are there remote product development intern jobs in Idaho?
Yes, but they're rare. Product development intern work is largely hands-on, involving lab work, prototype review, and in-person collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams. About 0% of product development intern openings tied to Idaho are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those tend to be concentrated in the market research, competitive analysis, and documentation portions of the role rather than core product or manufacturing tasks.
How can I get hired as a product development intern in Idaho with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying through a university co-op or structured internship program before graduation. Boise State University and the University of Idaho both maintain employer partnerships with Idaho-based manufacturers and technology companies that recruit students without prior professional experience. Lateral entry from roles in quality assurance, supply chain coordination, or technical customer support at Idaho manufacturers gives candidates transferable context. A portfolio documenting class projects, capstone work, or personal prototyping strengthens any application where professional experience is limited.
Where can I find and apply to product development intern jobs in Idaho?
You can find and apply to product development intern jobs in Idaho on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers across the state. Search the available roles, identify the ones that match your background and availability, and apply directly to the positions that fit. No profile creation is required to search or apply.
