Employers in Portland and Augusta prioritize candidates who can show hands-on experience with product launches or messaging projects, which many candidates build through internships, marketing coordinator roles, or agency work before moving into a specialist position.
How much do product marketing specialists make in Maine?
Product marketing specialists in Maine earn a median of about $71,980 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $43,310 for the lowest 10% to over $127,200 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire product marketing specialists in Maine?
Maine product marketing specialist roles are posted by IDEXX Laboratories, University of Maine, and QuadCode and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Maine's technology and financial services companies, including those headquartered in the Greater Portland area, generate the most consistent demand for this role.
Which Maine cities have the most product marketing specialist jobs?
Portland, Maine, and Orono have the most product marketing specialist openings in Maine. Portland drives the largest share of listings because it is home to Maine's highest concentration of technology, financial services, and healthcare companies, while Augusta and Bangor contribute openings tied to state government contractors, regional healthcare systems, and established retail and distribution employers.
Are there remote product marketing specialist jobs in Maine?
Yes, and more than most fields, because product marketing work is primarily desk-based and involves writing, research, and cross-functional collaboration that translates well to remote settings. About 60% of product marketing specialist openings tied to Maine are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how broadly employers have accepted distributed work for this role. Messaging, competitive research, and content development are the functions most commonly done fully remotely.
How can I get hired as a product marketing specialist in Maine with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a marketing coordinator or content marketing associate role at a Maine-based technology company or regional employer, then transitioning into product marketing once you have demonstrated go-to-market exposure. Companies like Idexx Laboratories and WEX have structured marketing teams that occasionally bring in new graduates. Building a portfolio with a product launch case study, even from a student or volunteer project, and earning a certification in product marketing from an accredited online program strengthens a candidate's profile considerably.

Search the listings to find roles that match your experience level and location preference, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
