Marketing Analyst Jobs in Maine: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a marketing analyst in Maine?
Marketing analysts in Maine are not required to hold a state-issued license or certification, so the path centers on education and demonstrated skills. Most Maine employers expect a bachelor's degree in marketing, business, economics, or statistics. Building proficiency in analytics platforms and assembling a portfolio of real campaign or data projects strengthens candidacy considerably. Voluntary credentials like the Professional Certified Marketer designation from the American Marketing Association are recognized by Maine employers and can accelerate hiring.
How much do marketing analysts make in Maine?
Marketing analysts in Maine earn a median of about $71,980 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $43,310 for the lowest 10% to over $127,200 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire marketing analysts in Maine?
Companies currently hiring marketing analysts in Maine include IDEXX Laboratories, University of Maine, and QuadCode, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Maine's healthcare systems, regional financial institutions, and consumer retail companies have been among the most consistent sources of marketing analyst openings across the state.
Which Maine cities have the most marketing analyst jobs?
Portland, Maine, and Orono account for the largest share of marketing analyst openings in Maine. Portland dominates as the state's commercial center, anchored by financial services, healthcare, and consumer brands, while Bangor and Augusta generate demand from regional healthcare systems, state government agencies, and established retail employers headquartered in central and eastern Maine.
Are there remote marketing analyst jobs in Maine?
Yes, and more than most fields. Marketing analysis is desk-based and data-driven, which makes it well suited to remote and hybrid arrangements. About 60% of marketing analyst openings tied to Maine are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how broadly employers in this field have adopted flexible work models. Digital analytics, content performance, and market research roles tend to be the most consistently remote-eligible.
How can I get hired as a marketing analyst in Maine with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to marketing coordinator or data associate roles at Maine's larger healthcare and retail employers, where internal promotion into analytics is common. MaineHealth and Hannaford Supermarkets have run structured rotational and new-graduate programs that place candidates without direct analyst experience into data-adjacent roles. Building a portfolio with Google Analytics or free public datasets and earning an entry-level certification like Google's Data Analytics Certificate gives candidates a concrete edge when competing for those openings.
