About the Role
We're looking for an organized, proactive Operations Coordinator to work directly with the owner of our growing Maine food business. This is a hands-on role supporting every part of the company—from retail and wholesale to production, shipping, and administration.
No two days are the same. One day you might be creating sales reports in Excel, documenting procedures, researching new vendors, or placing store orders. The next, you may be coordinating projects, working alongside team members to develop and improve standard operating procedures, helping implement new systems, or jumping in to assist with shipping or the retail store during a busy period.
As the Operations Coordinator, you'll play a key role in helping the business run smoothly by creating structure, improving processes, and ensuring priorities stay on track. You'll work closely with both the owner and the rest of the team, turning ideas into practical systems while helping everyone stay informed, organized, and moving toward the same goals.
What You'll Do
- Work directly with the business owner to support day-to-day operations across retail, wholesale, production, shipping, and administration.
- Collaborate with team members across all departments to document, develop, and continually improve standard operating procedures (SOPs), training materials, and operational processes.
- Prepare sales, inventory, and operational reports using Excel to help guide business decisions.
- Coordinate projects and follow up with team members to ensure priorities and deadlines stay on track.
- Assist with store purchasing and help develop inventory reorder guidelines.
- Research products, vendors, software, and process improvements.
- Help identify opportunities to improve workflows, communication, and overall business efficiency.
- Provide administrative support, including document preparation, record keeping, and general business coordination.
- Assist with shipping, retail, or production when operational needs require.
What We're Looking For
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong Excel skills and the ability to analyze and present data.
- Comfortable with technology and eager to learn new software and systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and comfortable working independently.
- A growth mindset with a passion for solving problems and improving processes.
- Previous experience in operations, project coordination, office management, or administrative support is preferred but not required.

Sales Operations Specialist Jobs in Maine: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales operations specialist in Maine?
Most Maine employers expect a bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field, though candidates with associate degrees and strong CRM experience do get hired at the coordinator level. There is no state-issued license or registration required for this role in Maine. The most practical path is to build hands-on experience with Salesforce or a comparable CRM, develop reporting skills, and target coordinator or sales analyst roles at Maine-based companies to work your way into a specialist title.
Which companies hire sales operations specialists in Maine?
Companies currently hiring sales operations specialists in Maine include Walgreens, MaineHealth, and Hannaford, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Maine's concentration of financial services firms, health technology companies, and specialty manufacturers means demand is distributed across industries rather than confined to a single sector.
Which Maine cities have the most sales operations specialist jobs?
Portland, South Portland, and Westbrook have the most sales operations specialist openings in Maine. Portland drives the largest share of listings because it hosts the headquarters or major regional offices of financial services and healthcare technology firms, while Bangor and Augusta generate openings through state government contractors, regional health systems, and insurance organizations anchored in those markets.
Are there remote sales operations specialist jobs in Maine?
Yes, and more than most fields. Sales operations is an analytical and systems-focused desk role, which makes it well suited to remote and hybrid arrangements. About 19% of sales operations specialist openings tied to Maine are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how broadly companies have accepted distributed revenue operations teams. The most remote-friendly functions within the role are CRM administration, reporting, and process documentation.
How can I get hired as a sales operations specialist in Maine with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a sales coordinator or sales analyst role, where you gain direct exposure to CRM workflows and pipeline reporting without needing a specialist title first. Large Maine employers in financial services and healthcare technology, including insurers and health systems based in Portland and Bangor, occasionally post associate or junior operations roles suited to recent graduates. Building a portfolio of Salesforce or HubSpot work, even from coursework or freelance projects, gives you a concrete edge over candidates with only a degree and no system-specific experience.
Where can I find and apply to sales operations specialist jobs in Maine?
You can find and apply to sales operations specialist jobs in Maine on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers hiring in the state right now. Search the listings, find the roles that match your background and location preference, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
