Sales Operations Specialist Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales operations specialist in California?
Most California employers require a bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field, though no state-issued license applies to this role. The practical path involves building proficiency in Salesforce and earning a Salesforce Administrator certification, which California technology and life sciences employers consistently list as a preferred credential. Entry candidates often start in sales support, business analyst, or revenue operations coordinator roles at California-based companies before moving into dedicated sales operations positions.
Which companies hire sales operations specialists in California?
Employers hiring sales operations specialists in California right now include MSCI, Samyang America, and Delta Electronics Americas, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. California's concentration of enterprise software companies, biotech firms, and global technology headquarters means demand for sales operations talent here tends to run deeper and more consistently than in most other states.
Which California cities have the most sales operations specialist jobs?
San Francisco, Brea, and Fremont have the most sales operations specialist openings in California. San Francisco leads because it anchors the state's enterprise software and cloud technology industry, while Los Angeles draws hiring from media, e-commerce, and healthcare companies, and San Diego's strong life sciences and defense sectors generate consistent demand for sales operations roles supporting complex B2B sales cycles.
Are there remote sales operations specialist jobs in California?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 19% of sales operations specialist openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how thoroughly this role centers on data systems, CRM platforms, and cross-functional coordination rather than in-person presence. The most remote-friendly parts of the role are forecasting analysis, CRM administration, and reporting, while onboarding and strategic planning work tends to pull candidates back on-site.
How can I get hired as a sales operations specialist in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from a sales development representative or business analyst role at a California technology or life sciences company, where exposure to Salesforce and pipeline reporting naturally builds sales operations skills. Large California employers like Oracle, Genentech, and Workday run structured rotational or associate programs that place early-career candidates in revenue operations functions. Earning a Salesforce Administrator certification before applying gives candidates without direct experience a measurable edge in California's competitive technology hiring market.
Where can I find and apply to sales operations specialist jobs in California?
You can find and apply to sales operations specialist jobs in California on Migrate Mate, which lists current California openings across technology, life sciences, financial services, and other sectors. Find roles that fit your experience and apply directly from the listings.
