Marketing Product Manager
Position Summary
We are seeking a strategic, customer-centric Marketing Product Manager to lead the evolution of our marketing technology ecosystem and customer engagement capabilities. This role sits at the intersection of Marketing, Product, Technology, Data, and Operations and is responsible for defining product strategy, driving execution through Agile delivery practices, and maximizing the value of our marketing technology investments. The ideal candidate combines strong product management fundamentals with deep expertise in marketing technology platforms, customer engagement programs, data-driven personalization, and omnichannel marketing. They will be responsible for identifying business opportunities, translating marketing objectives into scalable product solutions, and orchestrating roadmaps that leverage both vendor platforms and internally developed capabilities. This leader must think holistically about the end-to-end customer experience, advocate for customer needs, and drive alignment across stakeholders to deliver measurable business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Roadmap Management
- Define and execute product strategies that support customer acquisition, engagement, retention, loyalty, and personalization goals.
- Develop and maintain multi-quarter product roadmaps aligned with marketing objectives, customer needs, and enterprise priorities.
- Evaluate and leverage existing technologies, platforms, vendor capabilities, and internally developed solutions to maximize business value before pursuing net-new development.
- Partner with Marketing, Engineering, Data & Analytics, Legal, and Operations teams to identify opportunities for innovation and optimization.
- Build business cases, prioritize investments, define success metrics, and communicate strategic recommendations to leaders and stakeholders.
- Continuously evaluate marketing technology trends, emerging capabilities, and best practices to inform future roadmap decisions.
Agile Product Delivery & Execution
- Serve as Product Owner and day-to-day leader for marketing product initiatives.
- Manage Agile delivery processes including:
- Backlog management
- Sprint planning
- Story writing and refinement
- Acceptance criteria definition
- Prioritization activities
- Release planning
- Create high-quality Jira epics, features, stories, and user acceptance criteria that clearly articulate customer and business requirements.
- Facilitate cross-functional alignment among marketing, technology, analytics, UX, and vendor partners.
- Provide regular status communications, roadmap updates, risk assessments, and executive reporting.
- Drive decision-making and remove obstacles to ensure teams stay focused on delivering customer and business value.
- Ensure solutions are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to organizational objectives.
Customer Experience Leadership
- Act as the voice of the customer throughout the product lifecycle.
- Develop a deep understanding of customer journeys, user behaviors, pain points, and engagement opportunities.
- Maintain an end-to-end view of the customer experience across channels including email, SMS, web, mobile, loyalty, and personalization touchpoints.
- Translate customer insights, behavioral data, and market trends into actionable product enhancements.
- Balance customer needs, business objectives, compliance requirements, and technical constraints when making prioritization decisions.
- Drive continuous improvement through testing, measurement, feedback loops, and optimization initiatives.
Marketing Technology & Customer Engagement Expertise
- Lead product initiatives across:
- Email marketing
- SMS marketing
- Loyalty programs
- Preference management
- Personalization
- Customer data and segmentation
- Journey orchestration
- Campaign enablement
- Partner with marketing teams to improve campaign effectiveness through automation, targeting, customer insights, and technology optimization.
- Ensure marketing capabilities are scalable, compliant, measurable, and aligned with enterprise technology standards.
- Work closely with analytics teams to establish KPIs, reporting structures, experimentation frameworks, and measurement methodologies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience within the Marketing Technology (MarTech), CRM, Digital Marketing, or Customer Engagement ecosystem.
- 5+ years of Product Management experience leading technology-enabled customer engagement initiatives.
- Deep expertise with marketing technology platforms such as:
- Salesforce Marketing Cloud
- Adobe Experience Cloud products
- Customer journey orchestration platforms
- Personalization engines
- CRM and customer data platforms
- Demonstrated experience managing email and SMS marketing programs at scale.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, backlog management, sprint planning, and Jira.
- Experience creating product roadmaps, defining requirements, and leading cross-functional delivery teams.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills.
- Strong analytical mindset with experience using customer and business data to drive product decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with loyalty and rewards platforms.
- Experience with customer data platforms (CDPs), identity resolution, and audience management.
- Familiarity with experimentation frameworks, A/B testing, and personalization strategies.
- Experience working with privacy, consent management, and marketing compliance requirements.
- Background in eCommerce, retail, customer engagement, or omnichannel marketing environments.
