Candidates who stand out locally combine experience in platform or marketplace products with a demonstrated ability to influence roadmap decisions across cross-functional teams. Familiarity with San Francisco's startup and scale-up culture, where product strategy often sits close to the C-suite, is a clear advantage.

The most realistic entry path is moving into a product strategy lead role from an adjacent position such as product analyst, strategy analyst, or associate product manager at one of San Francisco's many growth-stage technology or fintech companies.
