Professor Jobs in Aurora: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a professor job in Aurora?
Aurora's strongest hiring comes from institutions tied to the Fitzsimons medical campus, community colleges serving the eastern metro, and workforce training programs in the Gateway Park corridor. Candidates with subject matter expertise in healthcare, technology, or skilled trades have the clearest path locally. Tailoring your application to Aurora's career-focused and professional development programs, rather than purely research-oriented roles, gives you a practical edge in this market.
Which companies hire professors in Aurora?

Aurora's hiring mix leans toward community colleges, healthcare training institutes, and corporate learning and development programs rather than large research universities.
Are there remote professor jobs in Aurora?
Yes, though professor roles are less remote-friendly than desk-based positions given the hands-on instruction most require. About 17% of professor openings tied to Aurora are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, which reflects the broader nature of academic work in this market. Curriculum development, online course facilitation, and continuing education instruction are the segments where remote arrangements appear most often in Aurora.
How can I get a professor job in Aurora with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Aurora is adjunct or part-time instruction at community colleges and workforce development programs near the Fitzsimons and Gateway Park areas. These employers regularly hire professionals with industry credentials but limited formal teaching backgrounds.
