This position will oversee and manage the pricing and contract renewal process for Hub Group's current business. They will conduct analysis and modeling of current operations, and manage the analysis, design and construction of Hub's pricing proposal. Additionally, the Pricing Analyst will support new pricing initiatives and work with the team through new solution development.
Essential Job Functions:
- Lead pre-planning, strategy development and coordination of responses to renewal pricing requests
- Manage and monitor contractual renewal timelines
- Identify opportunities for growth, profit maximization, and network improvements through pricing strategies and tactics
- Understand and apply transportation optimization techniques including dedicated efficient routing, resource optimization, network asset evaluation
- Conduct detailed analysis of incumbent business and current P&L performance. Analyze the findings and document the recommended actions
- Clearly present the methodology, findings, and results to internal customers and the commercial organization
- Lead coordination between Sales, Operations, Legal, and Leadership surrounding pricing renewal or new business opportunity
- Duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned or changed from time to time
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college/university in a concentration requiring analytical rigor (business, economics, finance, logistics/supply chain management, etc.)
- At least 0-1 years of work experience in the transportation industry
- Strong understanding of transportation principles, economics, and supply chain network behavior
- Self-starter with the ability to manage simultaneous projects in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Ability to work both independently and with a team
- Organizational and problem-solving skills with an attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization – internally, as well as with customers and vendors
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Excel), and professional experience using other reporting/analysis applications (e.g. Business Objects, SQL, Tableau)
- Desire and ability to work in a highly visible role that will interact with individuals at all organizational levels, internal and external
- Ability to manage multiple priorities as well as flexibility to adapt to change with new systems and methods while working in a team environment
