ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director, Global HR Governance & Compliance provides strategic leadership and oversight for the organization's HR compliance, governance framework, and employment risk management practices across all global locations.
This role ensures HR policies, handbooks, compliance programs, and investigation processes remain current, coordinated, and effectively managed across jurisdictions, and promotes consistent, defensible, and locally compliant HR practices.
Serving as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, this role partners closely with Legal, Risk, HR Business Partners, and HR functional teams to support sound decision-making and effective risk management.
- Develop, implement, and oversee HR compliance policies, procedures, and control frameworks to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations (e.g., EEO, FLSA, OSHA, and global employment standards).
- Own the global HR policy framework, including employee handbook governance, policy lifecycle management, approvals, and version control.
- Partner with Legal, HR Business Partners, and global stakeholders to maintain country-specific compliance requirements.
- Oversee regulatory reporting, filings, compliance calendars, and program execution across key jurisdictions.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate HR compliance risks; provide leadership with insights and recommended mitigation strategies.
- Oversee HR investigations and ensure matters are managed in accordance with company policy and legal requirements, including appropriate escalation of high-risk issues.
- Maintain compliance and risk management tools, including issue tracking, investigation protocols, and audit-ready documentation.
- Lead HR compliance audits and ensure readiness for internal and external reviews.
- Respond to internal and external Requests for Information (RFI) related to HR data and compliance.
- Monitor global employment law changes and translate requirements into actionable HR processes and policies.
- Drive continuous improvement of HR compliance practices and governance routines.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior HR leaders on compliance obligations, risk exposure, and policy decisions.
Promote scalable, efficient compliance processes that balance risk management with business enablement.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership in compliance, governance, or employment law.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Deep knowledge of U.S. and global labor and employment laws.
- Strong analytical, investigative, and decision-making capabilities.
- Proven ability to build governance frameworks, compliance programs, and audit-ready processes.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical guidance.
- Professional certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR, CHRP/CHRL) preferred.
COMPENSATION
- A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $144,400 to $180,500 annually. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base pay.
