JOIN REDMOND!
The City of Redmond is a thriving, culturally diverse community and home to over 80,000 residents. Redmond is the hub of an array of commerce and industry, ranging from technology, aerospace, and gaming to biomedical and innovation start-ups. In this role, you will represent the City and our values of service, integrity, accountability, belonging, and stewardship.
We are currently seeking a motivated and community-focused individual to join our team as a Recreation Program Coordinator. This position plays a vital role in developing meaningful relationships with teens, families, and community partners while supporting inclusive and adaptive recreation programs.
Are you passionate about empowering teens, building community, and creating programs that make a lasting impact?
The City of Redmond is seeking a dynamic and innovative Recreation Program Coordinator to lead and grow a comprehensive Teen Services Program that serves youth throughout the community. This position is much more than program delivery—it is an opportunity to shape experiences, build connections, and create pathways for belonging, leadership, learning, and well-being for Redmond teens.
As the Teen Services and Adaptive Recreation Coordinator, you will design, implement, and continuously evolve a diverse portfolio of programs and services that meet teens where they are. From mental health and wellness initiatives to arts, music, leadership development, social recreation, and community engagement opportunities, you will help create meaningful experiences that support the whole teen.
A key component of this role is leading the Redmond Youth Partnership and Advisory Committee (RYPAC), Redmond's teen leadership group. Through RYPAC, you will mentor emerging leaders, elevate youth voices, and help connect teens to civic engagement and community decision-making opportunities.
This position also oversees adaptive recreation programs and inclusion services, ensuring that individuals of all abilities can fully participate in recreation opportunities across the community. Success in this role requires creativity, relationship-building, program development expertise, and a commitment to equity, inclusion, and belonging.
We are looking for someone who is energized by building programs from the ground up, identifying emerging community needs, developing strategic partnerships, and creating sustainable, revenue-generating recreation opportunities that expand access and strengthen long-term program success.
If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy connecting with young people, and believe recreation can be a powerful tool for community building, we encourage you to apply.
The regular schedule for this role includes evenings and weekends, with afternoon and evening hours aligned with teen programming and weekend hours to support inclusion offerings along with weekend programming and events.
