Position Title: Program & Community Engagement Coordinator
Status: Part-Time (20-25 hours per week)
Wage: $19.00-$20.00 per hour DOE

Position Summary

The Program & Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for creating, coordinating, promoting, and evaluating recreational, educational, and community-based programs that enrich the lives of residents of all ages. This position focuses on developing classes, camps, workshops, and special events while building strong partnerships with local organizations, businesses, schools, and community groups.

The ideal candidate is creative, organized, community-minded, and passionate about bringing people together through meaningful recreational and educational opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Program Development & Coordination

· Research, develop, implement, and evaluate recreational and educational programs for youth, adults, and seniors.

· Coordinate classes, workshops, and special interest programs including, but not limited to:

• Art programs
• Music programs
• Youth enrichment classes
• Community workshops

· Identify community interests and trends to develop new program offerings.

· Recruit, coordinate, and support instructors, contractors, and volunteers.

· Monitor class enrollment and recommend program improvements.

Community Engagement

· Build and maintain positive relationships with schools, nonprofits, community organizations, local businesses, and other partners.

· Collaborate with community partners to host programs and events that expand recreational opportunities.

· Serve as a liaison between the District and community organizations.

· Attend community events and represent the District in a professional manner.

Marketing & Promotion

· Assist with program promotion through social media, email marketing, flyers, newsletters, and community outreach.

· Help maintain accurate program information on the District website and registration platforms.

Administrative Responsibilities

· Assist with program registration and customer service.

· Track program participation, evaluations, and outcomes.

· Maintain program records and reports.

· Support budgeting and supply purchasing for assigned programs.

· Assist with facility scheduling and event coordination as needed.

Qualifications

Required

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Experience coordinating programs, events, recreation activities, education programs, or community outreach activities.

· Strong customer service and communication skills.

· Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.

· Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

· Pass a background check

Preferred

· Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Education, Communications, Marketing, Public Administration, or a related field.

· Experience working with community organizations and volunteers.

· Experience developing youth programs or community events.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Excellent organizational and time management skills.

· Ability to establish effective relationships with diverse community groups.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Creative problem-solving abilities.

· Ability to plan, coordinate, and execute multiple programs simultaneously.

· Passion for community engagement and recreation services.

Working Conditions

· Some evening and weekend work may be required for classes, meetings, and special events.

· Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
