We are seeking passionate, organized, and dependable Program Managers to lead and support our youth development initiatives.

Position Overview

Leader Breeders is hiring Program Managers for two program areas. Candidates may be considered for both/either tracks based on their experience, strengths, and interests.

Both positions require strong leadership, communication, organizational skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with youth, families, staff, and school partners.

Track 1: After-School Program Manager

The After-School Program Manager is responsible for the daily operations, supervision, and overall success of an assigned after-school site.

Our after-school programs offer multiple enrichment opportunities, including academic support, sports, mentorship, life skills, and other youth development activities delivered by staff, instructors, and community partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily program operations, ensuring activities run safely, effectively, and on schedule.
• Supervise and coordinate instructors, enrichment partners, volunteers, and program support staff.
• Develop and manage daily schedules, staff assignments, and program activities.
• Ensure active supervision of all participants and adherence to safety protocols.
• Maintain a positive, structured, and engaging environment for youth.
• Manage student attendance, behavior expectations, and incident documentation.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for school personnel, families, and community partners.
• Monitor program quality and provide feedback and support to instructors.
• Coordinate supplies, equipment, and other operational needs.
• Complete program reports, track participation, and support program evaluation.
• Address challenges and emergencies professionally and promptly.

Track 2: In-School Support & Mentorship Program Manager

The In-School Support & Mentorship Program Manager will oversee a school-based youth support model designed to provide consistent mentorship, academic encouragement, and individualized support to students.

The program is expected to serve approximately 60 students across three Baltimore City schools, with roughly 20 students at each school.

The Program Manager will coordinate staff caseloads, student check-ins, family engagement, and partnerships with school personnel to ensure students receive consistent support.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the implementation of the in-school support and mentorship model across multiple schools.
• Coordinate services for approximately 60 students across three school sites.
• Assign and monitor student caseloads among program staff and mentors.
• Establish schedules for regular student check-ins, mentorship sessions, and school visits.
• Develop individualized student support plans based on identified needs and goals.
• Build relationships with students, parents, teachers, counselors, and school administrators.
• Monitor student engagement, academic progress, behavior, and other identified areas of need.
• Coordinate referrals to additional academic, social, and community resources.
• Organize mentorship activities, workshops, and enrichment opportunities.
• Maintain accurate student records, progress notes, and program documentation.
• Supervise and support staff and mentors to ensure accountability and consistency.
• Track program outcomes and prepare reports for organizational leadership and funding partners.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow all applicable student safety and privacy requirements.

Qualifications

Required:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience working with youth in education, after-school programming, mentorship, or community-based programs.
• Experience supervising staff, coordinating programs, or managing youth development initiatives.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities.
• Experience building positive relationships with youth from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to communicate professionally with families, school personnel, and community partners.
• Commitment to youth safety, active supervision, and positive youth development.
• Ability to pass required background checks and clearances.

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, psychology, youth development, nonprofit management, or a related field.
• Experience working in Baltimore City schools or community-based youth programs.
• Experience with case management, student support plans, or mentorship programs.
• Familiarity with trauma-informed practices, restorative approaches, and positive behavior management.
• CPR/First Aid certification.
• Experience with program reporting, data collection, and grant-funded initiatives.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8.0 – 20.0 per week
