INTRODUCTION
The Senior HRIS Analyst plays a critical role in supporting and optimizing HR technology, serving as an experienced functional and technical resource within the HR Systems team. This role has strong hands-on system expertise with growing ownership of projects and strategic initiatives. The Senior HRIS Analyst partners closely with cross-functional teams and vendors to enhance Workday functionality, improve processes, and ensure data integrity while driving operational excellence.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Duties And Responsibilities
System Maintenance & System Support – 40%
- Configure, maintain, and support Workday modules including Core HCM, Absence, Benefits, Compensation, Talent, Payroll, Time Tracking, and Learning.
- Troubleshoot system, integration, and data issues; identify root cause and implement sustainable solutions.
- Support and maintain Workday integrations (EIBs and Cloud Connect), coordinating updates with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Manage and resolve HRIS support tickets, ensuring timely issue resolution and strong end-user support.
- Maintain system security, including roles, security groups, and domain policies in compliance with data privacy and audit requirements.
- Ensure data integrity through audits, risk assessments, and proactive monitoring.
- Maintain and update system documentation to reflect current processes and configurations.
System Development & Enhancements – 40%
- Partner with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, evaluate business needs, and implement scalable system enhancements.
- Configure and optimize business processes and workflows to improve efficiency and user experience.
- Lead or support small to mid-sized HRIS projects, including enhancements, integrations, and process improvements.
- Participate in Workday release management, including impact analysis, testing, configuration, and communication.
- Act as a liaison between HR, IT, and vendors to support system design decisions and enhancements.
- Identify opportunities for automation and continuous improvement across HR processes.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to HRIS Analysts, supporting team development and knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to the HRIS roadmap by recommending system improvements aligned with business priorities.
Reporting & Analytics – 20%
- Develop and maintain complex Workday reports, dashboards, and data visualizations.
- Partner with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and deliver actionable insights.
- Analyze HR data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for process improvement and decision-making.
- Promote reporting best practices and enhance reporting capabilities across HR functions.
- Support delivery of recurring HR metrics and executive reporting.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- BS/BA Degree in Business Management, Information Technology, Human Resources, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience working with Workday (Configuration, Development, Cal Fields, Business Processes, Security, and Advanced Reporting/Dashboards).
- Workday Pro Certification preferred.
- Experience in system life-cycle phase, requirements, analysis, design, testing, implementing, deployment and system upgrade.
- In-depth understanding of HR domain and workflows.
- Ability to effectively present technical and functional information in a manner that is understandable to all levels of the organization.
- Flexible and adaptive to change.
- Project management experience with demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Ability to take ownership of tasks and use initiatives to solve problems, exercising an appropriate level of judgment.
- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally as part of a wider team.
- Ability to think outside the box.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Word and Excel.
- Advanced analytical skills including excellent problem-solving skills with an understanding of core HR business practices (HRIS, Compensation, Benefits, Recruiting, HR Shared Services).
- Advanced knowledge of reporting tool usage. Ability to analyze and troubleshoot system issues and provide solutions.
