Project Analyst Jobs in Mississippi: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a project analyst in Mississippi?
Most project analyst roles in Mississippi require a bachelor's degree in business, information systems, or a closely related field. Mississippi does not issue a state-specific license for this role, so hiring managers focus on credentials like the Project Management Professional certification from PMI. Candidates who gain experience through internships with Mississippi state agencies, healthcare systems, or defense contractors in the Jackson metro tend to have a clear path into full-time analyst positions.
Which companies hire project analysts in Mississippi?
Companies currently hiring project analysts in Mississippi include CVS Health, University of Mississippi Medical Center, and Trustmark, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Mississippi's mix of defense contracting in Hancock County, healthcare operations in Jackson, and utility infrastructure throughout the state means demand comes from a diverse set of employers rather than a single dominant industry.
Which Mississippi cities have the most project analyst jobs?
The cities with the most project analyst openings in Mississippi are Jackson, Mississippi, and Pascagoula. Jackson leads because it is home to state government agencies, the University of Mississippi Medical Center, and major utility and insurance headquarters, while Ridgeland and Gulfport draw openings from defense contractors, financial services firms, and coastal energy operations that all rely heavily on structured project oversight.
Are there remote project analyst jobs in Mississippi?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 67% of project analyst openings tied to Mississippi are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how central this role is to desk-based coordination and data work. The tasks most commonly performed remotely include status reporting, budget tracking, and stakeholder communications, while on-site presence is more often required for construction or infrastructure projects.
How can I get hired as a project analyst in Mississippi with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for a project coordinator or business analyst associate role, which large Mississippi employers like state agencies, Entergy Mississippi, and regional healthcare systems use as structured on-ramps. Completing a Google Project Management Certificate or starting the PMP process while working in an adjacent role such as administrative analyst or data coordinator builds a competitive profile. Mississippi community colleges also offer business technology programs that align directly with entry-level analyst requirements.
Where can I find and apply to project analyst jobs in Mississippi?
You can find and apply to project analyst jobs in Mississippi on Migrate Mate, which lists current Mississippi openings updated regularly. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience level, location preference, and industry focus, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
