Job Description
AECOM’s Water Business Line is seeking a dynamic, talented Senior Infrastructure Project Manager for immediate employment to be based out of our Virginia Beach, VA office. Candidate will manage, plan and lead projects supporting complex water/wastewater treatment plant upgrades and associated infrastructure.
The appropriate qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in delivering complex infrastructure projects. This position offers a unique opportunity to work within an established and successful group that offers a diverse range of technical challenges and career development opportunities.
The successful candidate will be expected to communicate effectively with project team members and across multiple organizations, have a high level of initiative and motivation to deliver quality results, have strong problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to provide value-added solutions and maintain strong relationships in a collaborative delivery environment acting as the Owner’s Advisor.
The job responsibilities of the position will include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for the overall management administration to project and assists in establishing project specific objectives and policies.
- Provides management and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies, and a primary liaison between AECOM and client interface.
- Oversees and ensures all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule through subordinate managers and supervisors.
- Responsible for administering the project from budgeting/schedule stage through procurement and contract closeout. Position has significant profit/loss responsibility for assigned project.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Environmental Engineering + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Demonstrated knowledge of water and wastewater treatment, pumping stations, collection and distribution systems and client/consultant relations experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Environmental Engineering
- 9+ years of relevant experience as a Project Manager within an engineering consulting firm
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE)
- Ability to proactively lead technical efforts and project team staff
- Strong communication skills and experience working directly with clients
- Experience on large scale projects
