Project Management Coordinator Jobs in Albuquerque: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a project management coordinator job in Albuquerque?
Focus your search on Albuquerque's defense and government contracting sector, which clusters around Kirtland Air Force Base and Sandia National Laboratories, as well as the city's growing healthcare systems and university-adjacent tech firms. Candidates who can show experience coordinating cross-functional teams, managing schedules in tools like Microsoft Project or Asana, and supporting federal or state compliance requirements stand out most in this market.
Which companies hire project management coordinators in Albuquerque?
Albuquerque project management coordinator roles are posted by KBR, PNM, and Booz Allen Hamilton and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. The local market pulls from a broad mix of defense contractors, healthcare networks, construction firms, and public sector agencies that collectively make Albuquerque one of New Mexico's steadiest hiring markets for this role.
Are there remote project management coordinator jobs in Albuquerque?
Yes, though availability depends on the sector, since hands-on coordination roles in construction or facilities management are typically on-site while software, IT, and administrative-facing roles are more remote-compatible. About 13% of project management coordinator openings tied to Albuquerque are remote or hybrid as of July 2026. Technology and professional services firms in the Uptown and North I-25 corridor tend to offer the most flexible arrangements locally.
How can I get a project management coordinator job in Albuquerque with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Albuquerque is through administrative or operations assistant roles at defense subcontractors or University of New Mexico-affiliated departments, where project support work is built into the job from day one. Local healthcare systems and city government agencies also hire coordinators at the entry level, especially candidates who can show proficiency in scheduling software, meeting facilitation, or budget tracking, even from volunteer or internship experience.
Which industries hire the most project management coordinators in Albuquerque?
Most project management coordinator openings in Albuquerque sit in Consulting & Professional Services, Aerospace & Defense, and Government & Public Sector, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Albuquerque's heavy concentration of federal research installations, its large hospital and clinic network, and an expanding technology and film production industry collectively sustain consistent demand for coordinators who can manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
