Project Management Coordinator Jobs in Knoxville: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a project management coordinator job in Knoxville?
Focus your search on Knoxville's strongest hiring sectors: healthcare systems along the Cumberland Avenue corridor, construction and engineering firms tied to regional infrastructure, and energy companies connected to the Oak Ridge National Laboratory complex. Candidates who combine scheduling or budgeting experience with familiarity in one of these industries tend to move faster through hiring. A PMP certification or CAPM credential gives a measurable edge in this market.
Which companies hire project management coordinators in Knoxville?
Employers hiring project management coordinators in Knoxville right now include Domino's, University Physicians' Association, and WSP, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Knoxville's hiring mix draws from large health systems, regional construction contractors, government-adjacent research organizations, and professional services firms concentrated in the West Knoxville and downtown areas.
Are there remote project management coordinator jobs in Knoxville?
Yes, though availability depends on the industry, since coordination roles tied to construction sites or healthcare facilities tend to require in-person presence while those supporting software, finance, or back-office operations are more remote-compatible. About 17% of project management coordinator openings tied to Knoxville are remote or hybrid as of July 2026. The most remote-friendly segments locally are roles within technology services and administrative operations.
How can I get a project management coordinator job in Knoxville with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Knoxville is starting in an administrative or operations support role at a healthcare system, construction firm, or regional contractor, then moving into coordination once you have documented scheduling or vendor-management experience. University of Tennessee and Pellissippi State alumni programs connect early-career candidates with Knoxville employers, and many area firms hire project administrators as a direct stepping stone into coordinator titles.
Which industries hire the most project management coordinators in Knoxville?
Knoxville project management coordinator roles concentrate in Banking & Financial Services and Investment & Asset Management, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Knoxville's mix of major health systems, active construction and infrastructure projects, and the research and energy sector tied to the Oak Ridge corridor consistently drives local demand for coordination professionals across experience levels.
