Project Manager Jobs in Minneapolis: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a project manager job in Minneapolis?
Focus on Minneapolis's dominant hiring sectors: healthcare systems, regional banks and insurance firms, and mid-size technology companies clustered in the North Loop and downtown. Candidates who combine PMP certification or Agile credentials with familiarity in regulated industries tend to stand out. Networking through local chapters like PMI Minnesota and targeting employers in the medical device and financial services corridors gives a practical edge over applicants targeting the city generically.
Which companies hire project managers in Minneapolis?
Companies currently hiring project managers in Minneapolis include Stantec, Colliers Engineering & Design, and WSB, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Minneapolis draws a mix of large corporate headquarters, regional healthcare networks, and growing technology firms, giving project managers a range of employer sizes and industries to target.
Are there remote project manager jobs in Minneapolis?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on the role type. About 54% of project manager openings tied to Minneapolis are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with the most flexibility found in technology and software delivery roles. Positions tied to healthcare operations, construction, or on-site program management in Minneapolis typically require in-person presence.
How can I get a project manager job in Minneapolis with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Minneapolis is moving into a project coordinator or business analyst role at one of the city's large healthcare or financial services employers, where formal PM training programs are common. Local employers in the medical device sector also hire associate project managers for clinical operations support. Building familiarity with tools like Jira or Smartsheet and pursuing a CAPM credential strengthens entry-level applications meaningfully in this market.
