Entry Level Project Team Leader Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level project team leader job?
Employers hiring at this level look for candidates who can demonstrate basic coordination skills, even from academic group projects, internships, or volunteer work. Highlighting experience with task tracking, meeting facilitation, or cross-functional communication gives you an edge. Certifications like CAPM or a Google Project Management Certificate signal readiness and often substitute for years of on-the-job experience on an entry level resume.
Which companies hire entry level project team leaders?
Companies hiring entry level project team leaders right now include American Eagle Outfitters, Target, and Petco, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. A broad mix of employers hires at this level, from large enterprises building out PMO pipelines to mid-size firms that need a junior coordinator to support established project managers.
Are there remote entry level project team leader jobs?
Yes, though on-site roles still make up a meaningful share of openings at this stage. About 6% of entry level project team leader openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, so candidates who prefer flexibility have real options. Hybrid setups are common, especially at larger companies that want new team members present for onboarding before moving to a more flexible schedule.
Are these new grad project team leader jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior project team leader roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts internships or academic project work in place of full-time history, or lists a degree as the primary qualification. Searching for junior or new grad alongside the role title surfaces the most accessible openings.
Which industries hire the most entry level project team leaders?
Entry Level project team leader roles concentrate in Retail, Healthcare & Medical Services, and Education, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors tend to run high volumes of concurrent projects and rely on entry level coordinators to keep deliverables organized, making them consistent sources of first-role opportunities for candidates just entering the field.
