Entry Level Psychology Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level psychology job?
Start by highlighting any supervised clinical hours, practicum placements, or research experience on your resume, since entry level psychology employers weigh hands-on work heavily. Tailor your application to the specific population each employer serves, whether that is children, adults, or crisis response. A relevant certification, such as mental health first aid or applied behavior analysis basics, can also set a new candidate apart.
Which companies hire entry level psychologys?
Companies hiring entry level psychologys right now include Maxim Healthcare, Rutgers University, and University of Arkansas, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a broad mix of community mental health centers, behavioral health networks, school districts, and government agencies that regularly bring on new and junior staff.
Are there remote entry level psychology jobs?
Yes, though most psychology roles at the entry level are still in-person due to client-facing requirements. About 6% of entry level psychology openings are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with teletherapy support, case management coordination, and research assistant positions most likely to offer flexible arrangements for early-career candidates.
Are these new grad psychology jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior psychology roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, counts internships or practicum hours toward requirements, or accepts a strong portfolio of supervised client work in place of full professional experience. Look for language like "recent graduates encouraged to apply" or "will train."
Which industries hire the most entry level psychologys?
Entry Level psychology roles concentrate in Education, Healthcare & Medical Services, and Insurance, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. These sectors drive junior hiring because they face consistent demand for direct service providers and support staff, making them reliable starting points for candidates building their first years of professional experience.
