Quality Assurance Engineer Jobs in Colorado: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a quality assurance engineer in Colorado?
Most quality assurance engineer roles in Colorado require a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field. Colorado does not require a state-issued license for software or manufacturing QA engineers, but candidates pursuing aerospace or defense work often need security clearance eligibility given the concentration of federal contractors on the Front Range. Certifications from ASQ, such as the Certified Quality Engineer or Certified Software Quality Engineer, strengthen a candidate's profile significantly in Colorado's competitive market.
Which companies hire quality assurance engineers in Colorado?
Colorado quality assurance engineer roles are posted by CoorsTek, Sierra Space, and Global Elite and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Colorado's mix of aerospace primes, medical device manufacturers, and growing software companies means demand is distributed across both legacy defense contractors and fast-moving tech firms along the Front Range.
Which Colorado cities have the most quality assurance engineer jobs?
Denver, Colorado Springs, and Colorado have the most quality assurance engineer openings in Colorado. Denver anchors the market through its density of software companies and corporate headquarters, Boulder draws demand from its biotech and hardware startup ecosystem, and Colorado Springs benefits from the large military and defense contractor presence at installations like Peterson Space Force Base and Schriever.
Are there remote quality assurance engineer jobs in Colorado?
Yes, and more than most fields, particularly for software and test automation roles where the work is laptop-based. About 60% of quality assurance engineer openings tied to Colorado are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, though manufacturing and hardware QA roles almost always require on-site work. Remote availability is highest for QA engineers focused on web, mobile, or cloud platform testing.
How can I get hired as a quality assurance engineer in Colorado with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a junior or associate QA analyst role, which many Colorado software companies post separately from senior engineering positions. Building a portfolio of personal test plans, automation scripts, or bug reports on open-source projects demonstrates practical ability when a degree is new. The ASQ Certified Quality Technician credential or a software testing bootcamp certificate signals commitment to the field. Large Front Range employers in aerospace and defense also hire quality assurance technicians as a stepping-stone, allowing internal movement into engineer-level roles.
Where can I find and apply to quality assurance engineer jobs in Colorado?
You can find and apply to quality assurance engineer jobs in Colorado on Migrate Mate, which lists current Colorado openings. Search through the roles, find the ones that match your background and preferences, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
