Quality Assurance Engineer Jobs in Missouri: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a quality assurance engineer in Missouri?
Quality assurance engineering in Missouri does not require a state-issued license, but most employers expect a bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field. Candidates who earn a Certified Software Quality Engineer credential through the American Society for Quality strengthen their standing with Missouri's manufacturing and aerospace employers. Many mid-career professionals also move into QA from adjacent development or systems analyst roles, building test skills on the job before making a formal transition.
Which companies hire quality assurance engineers in Missouri?
Companies currently hiring quality assurance engineers in Missouri include Kindeva Drug Delivery, Cboe Global Markets, and Creative Food Ingredients, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Missouri's concentration of aerospace, healthcare IT, and advanced manufacturing firms means QA roles here frequently require familiarity with regulated-industry quality standards.
Which Missouri cities have the most quality assurance engineer jobs?
Kansas City, St. Louis, and Springfield account for the largest share of quality assurance engineer openings in Missouri. St. Louis leads because of its dense cluster of aerospace, defense, and healthcare technology employers, while Kansas City draws strong demand from financial technology and telecommunications firms, and Springfield contributes openings tied to its growing manufacturing and distribution base.
Are there remote quality assurance engineer jobs in Missouri?
Yes, and more than most engineering disciplines, since much QA work centers on code review, test script execution, and documentation that travels well over a remote connection. About 36% of quality assurance engineer openings tied to Missouri are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting broad employer comfort with distributed testing teams. Roles involving physical hardware validation or on-site production audits are the exception most likely to require an in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a quality assurance engineer in Missouri with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a junior QA analyst or test associate role, which large Missouri employers such as Emerson Electric and regional health IT firms regularly post for candidates with a relevant degree but limited professional experience. Building a portfolio of automated test scripts using open-source tools and contributing to public repositories signals hands-on ability when a resume is thin. Associate-level rotational programs at Missouri's defense and manufacturing contractors also place new graduates directly into QA tracks alongside experienced engineers.
Where can I find and apply to quality assurance engineer jobs in Missouri?
You can find and apply to quality assurance engineer jobs in Missouri on Migrate Mate, which lists current Missouri openings updated regularly. Search the listings for roles that match your experience level and specialty, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
