Quality Assurance Intern Jobs in Houston, TX

Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician with a strong background in analytical chemistry, laboratory testing, and quality systems. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the integrity, safety, and quality of raw materials and finished products through analytical testing, regulatory compliance, and continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform analytical testing of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products using established laboratory methods
• Utilize analytical chemistry techniques including spectroscopy, chromatography (GC/HPLC), microscopy, spectrophotometry, wet chemistry, and microbiological testing
• Evaluate laboratory data and communicate findings clearly to support quality assurance and manufacturing operations
• Conduct instrument calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting for laboratory equipment including chromatography and spectrophotometry systems
• Maintain accurate documentation of laboratory activities, product specifications, raw material acceptance criteria, and quality control procedures
• Manage laboratory records and testing data within Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
• Support method development, validation, transfer, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Investigate quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions
• Develop and implement product specifications based on physical property and performance requirements
• Provide technical support and training to plant and laboratory personnel on chemistry and process-related topics
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and cost effectiveness
• Organize workload effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet established deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, analytical chemistry, or laboratory testing
• Experience with laboratory instrument calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
• Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity and product quality

Work Schedule

• Monday through Friday
• 8-hour day shifts
