Finance Intern Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a finance intern in Texas?
Most finance intern roles in Texas require active enrollment in an accredited bachelor's or master's program in finance, accounting, business, or economics. No state-issued license is required to intern in finance, but candidates who have passed the CFA Level I exam or are enrolled in a CFA program stand out. Texas employers, particularly in Houston and Dallas, also respond well to coursework in financial modeling and accounting fundamentals completed before applying.
Which companies hire finance interns in Texas?
Employers hiring finance interns in Texas right now include Goldman Sachs, Lennox International, and Celanese, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of energy companies, regional banks, and Fortune 500 headquarters means structured intern programs are common and often lead directly to full-time offers.
Which Texas cities have the most finance intern jobs?
Dallas, Houston, and Austin have the most finance intern openings in Texas. Houston leads because of its dense concentration of energy companies, investment banks, and corporate headquarters, while Dallas draws volume from financial services firms and large corporate treasury operations, and Austin's fast-growing tech and startup sector has added a steady stream of finance internship roles in recent years.
Are there remote finance intern jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than many fields, since finance intern work is largely analytical and desk-based. About 16% of finance intern openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how well spreadsheet-driven work translates to distributed teams. Financial modeling, reporting support, and data analysis tasks are the parts of the role most frequently offered in remote or hybrid arrangements.
How can I get hired as a finance intern in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to structured summer internship programs at large Texas employers before completing your junior year. JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, and Frost Bank run early-identification programs in Houston and Dallas that accept candidates with no prior finance experience. Building a short financial modeling project in Excel and posting it alongside your resume significantly improves response rates. Roles like accounting assistant or financial operations analyst at Texas community banks and credit unions also serve as strong lateral entry points.
Where can I find and apply to finance intern jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to finance intern jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings tied to Texas locations. Search the listings to find roles that match your program, schedule, and target city, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
