Job description
The Quality Engineer will have a mechanical and technical background working in a machine shop and assembly environment. Knowledge of castings is also necessary.
Functions and Responsibilities:
· Quality System Coordination
· Perform Internal Audits as needed
· Perform Supplier Audits as needed
· Monitor and report Key Metrics (monthly, quarterly, annually)
· Assist in the maintenance of the Quality Management System (IATF16949)
· APQP/PPAP Coordination:
· Maintain and monitor a formal PPAP schedule/project planner (to include Customer Portal Systems such as Caterpillar etc.)
· Create and update APQP documents (P. Flow, PFMEA, and Control Plans)
· Review Completed PPAP submission documentation prior to submission
· Create inspection plans for the shop floor
· Quality Engineering duties
· Lead internal corrective/improvement action initiatives using the 8d format.
· Lead external (customer) corrective/improvement action initiatives
· Lead external (supplier) corrective/improvement action initiatives
· Communicate quality issue to suppliers as needed.
· Support day to day floor issues
· Monitor ongoing process capability as required by customer.
· Quality Department Management:
· Provide oversite and direction to Quality Dept. personnel as needed
· The Quality Engineer will be a direct report to the Quality Manager.
· Adherence to all Company safety policies.
Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma required
- Technical Degree or Bachelors a plus
- 5+ years of related experience preferred (Casting & Machining)

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
