Quality Engineer Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a quality engineer in Florida?
Becoming a quality engineer in Florida typically starts with a bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, manufacturing, or a related engineering discipline. Florida does not require a state-issued license specifically for quality engineers, but most employers expect or prefer the Certified Quality Engineer credential offered by the American Society for Quality. Gaining experience in Florida's dominant industries, particularly aerospace, medical devices, or food manufacturing, strengthens your candidacy considerably.
Which companies hire quality engineers in Florida?
Employers hiring quality engineers in Florida right now include Lockheed Martin, Siemens Energy, and Blue Origin, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Florida's mix of aerospace contractors near Orlando, medical device manufacturers in the Tampa Bay corridor, and defense primes along the Space Coast means quality engineering roles appear across a wide range of industries and company sizes.
Which Florida cities have the most quality engineer jobs?
Orlando, Jacksonville, and Tampa have the most quality engineer openings in Florida. Orlando and its surrounding Space Coast corridor drive demand through aerospace and defense contractors, while Tampa's concentration of medical device companies and diversified manufacturers anchors hiring in the west, and Miami's role as a logistics and aviation hub adds openings in industries where regulatory compliance and inspection are central to operations.
Are there remote quality engineer jobs in Florida?
Yes, but they're rare. Quality engineering is fundamentally a hands-on discipline tied to production floors, inspection labs, and supplier facilities, so most roles require on-site presence. About 27% of quality engineer openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with remote work most common in supplier quality audit coordination, quality systems documentation, and compliance-focused roles that do not require physical access to equipment or product.
How can I get hired as a quality engineer in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a quality technician or quality inspector role, which large Florida manufacturers in aerospace and medical devices routinely use to develop talent. Employers such as Lockheed Martin and Medtronic, along with contract manufacturers throughout the Tampa and Orlando corridors, hire candidates from engineering technology programs and community college graduates. Earning your ASQ Certified Quality Inspector credential before applying, or completing a co-op through a Florida university engineering program, gives candidates a measurable edge over others with no direct quality experience.
Where can I find and apply to quality engineer jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to quality engineer jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current Florida openings across aerospace, medical devices, manufacturing, and defense. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly to each one.
