Service Engineer Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a service engineer in Florida?
Most service engineer roles in Florida require an associate or bachelor's degree in a technical field such as electrical, mechanical, or electromechanical engineering technology. Florida does not require a state-issued PE license for most field service roles, but employers in medical devices and elevator systems may require manufacturer certifications or, for elevator work, registration through the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
Which companies hire service engineers in Florida?
Employers hiring service engineers in Florida right now include 626, ProAutomated, and Carrier, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Florida's concentration of aerospace, medical technology, and building systems companies means consistent openings appear across both large multinationals and regional service contractors.
Which Florida cities have the most service engineer jobs?
Jacksonville, Tampa, and Miami have the most service engineer openings in Florida. Miami's density of healthcare systems and international logistics operations, Tampa's industrial and defense contractors, and Orlando's aerospace and theme-park infrastructure all generate steady demand, while smaller metros like Jacksonville and Melbourne appear frequently due to major defense and manufacturing employers based there.
Are there remote service engineer jobs in Florida?
Yes, but they're rare. Service engineer work is largely hands-on and site-dependent, so most roles require physical presence at customer or plant locations. About 39% of service engineer openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions tend to be in technical support, service coordination, or applications engineering rather than direct field work.
How can I get hired as a service engineer in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to field service technician or junior service engineer roles, which many Florida employers treat as the starting point before promoting to full service engineer. Siemens, Honeywell, and medical device companies operating in the Miami and Tampa corridors regularly bring on associates through apprenticeship-style training programs. Completing a two-year electromechanical or biomedical equipment technology program at a Florida College System school and earning an OEM equipment certification gives candidates a strong edge over applicants with no formal credential.
Where can I find and apply to service engineer jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to service engineer jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current Florida openings updated regularly. Find the roles that fit your background and experience, then apply directly to the employer through the listing.
