Radiation Therapy Technologist Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a radiation therapy technologist in New York?
You need a license from the New York State Education Department to practice as a radiation therapy technologist in New York. Licensure requires completing a JRCERT-accredited radiation therapy program at the associate or bachelor's level and passing the ARRT certification examination in radiation therapy. New York institutions like SUNY Downstate and several hospital-based programs offer accredited pathways. Once licensed, you apply directly to hospital systems or cancer centers.
Which companies hire radiation therapy technologists in New York?
Employers hiring radiation therapy technologists in New York right now include Rochester Regional Health, Newark Wayne Community Hospital, and Healthforce, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. New York's concentration of National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer centers and large integrated health systems means consistent, year-round demand across the state.
Which New York cities have the most radiation therapy technologist jobs?
The cities with the most radiation therapy technologist openings in New York are Rochester, Potsdam, and Buffalo. New York City leads because of its density of major academic medical centers and specialty cancer programs, while Long Island and suburban areas reflect the large Northwell Health and NYU Langone outpatient networks that extend well beyond the five boroughs.
Are there remote radiation therapy technologist jobs in New York?
Yes, but they're rare. Radiation therapy technologists work directly with patients and linear accelerators, making the role almost entirely on-site by nature. About 0% of radiation therapy technologist openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions typically involve dosimetry review, treatment planning support, or administrative oncology coordination rather than hands-on patient treatment.
How can I get hired as a radiation therapy technologist in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to new-graduate or residency programs run by large New York cancer centers, with Memorial Sloan Kettering and Northwell Health both offering structured onboarding for newly licensed therapists. Candidates who completed clinical rotations at New York facilities have a clear advantage since those hours are recognized. Holding an active NYSED license and current ARRT registry eligibility before applying removes the biggest screening barrier hiring managers use.
Where can I find and apply to radiation therapy technologist jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to radiation therapy technologist jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current New York openings. Search the listings, find roles that match your license status, experience level, and preferred location, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
