Radiologist Jobs in Tennessee: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a radiologist in Tennessee?
To practice as a radiologist in Tennessee, you must hold an active medical license issued by the Tennessee Department of Health through its Board of Medical Examiners, which requires completing medical school, an accredited residency in diagnostic radiology, and passing the USMLE steps. Most Tennessee hospitals also require board certification through the American Board of Radiology before granting full clinical privileges, and interventional radiologists need a current DEA registration to administer contrast agents and perform procedures.
Which companies hire radiologists in Tennessee?
Employers hiring radiologists in Tennessee right now include Radiology Partners, OneOncology, and Ascension, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of October 2026. Tennessee's large integrated health systems and academic medical centers tend to post the most consistent radiology openings, particularly for subspecialty-trained candidates.
Which Tennessee cities have the most radiologist jobs?
The Tennessee cities with the most radiologist openings are Nashville, Murfreesboro, and Chattanooga. Nashville leads because of its concentration of large health system headquarters and academic medical centers, while Memphis draws volume from major regional referral hospitals and Memphis-based systems, and Knoxville reflects demand anchored by the University of Tennessee Medical Center and its affiliated network.
Are there remote radiologist jobs in Tennessee?
Yes, and more than most clinical fields, since teleradiology allows image reads to happen entirely off-site. About 38% of radiologist openings tied to Tennessee are remote or hybrid as of October 2026, which reflects how broadly teleradiology has been adopted. Preliminary reads, overnight coverage, and subspecialty consultation are the functions most commonly performed remotely.
How can I get hired as a radiologist in Tennessee with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is completing a diagnostic radiology residency at a Tennessee-affiliated program, such as those at Vanderbilt University Medical Center or the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, which regularly retain graduates into staff roles. Candidates without prior attending experience should target academic hospitalist or staff radiologist openings that explicitly welcome new graduates, and securing ABR board eligibility before applying strengthens any application considerably within Tennessee hospital credentialing processes.
Where can I find and apply to radiologist jobs in Tennessee?
You can find and apply to radiologist jobs in Tennessee on Migrate Mate, which lists current Tennessee openings across hospital systems, imaging centers, and teleradiology groups. Find roles that fit your specialty and experience level and apply directly.
