About the Role:
Provide leadership to the sales and marketing efforts, develop, and implement the Company’s strategic sales plan, analysis of market conditions, competitive forces, regulatory requirements and changes, customer and market needs in addition to the sales resources required to meet revenue targets. Duties will focus on selling as #1 priority, evaluating pricing and cost analysis, strong communication with and owner of the relationship with the distribution partner and regular updating to management.
This position helps to promote all company and related subsidiary and affiliate company brands by helping to support and manage sales operations within their region. The role will support their market in developing and executing sales support and marketing strategies, meeting quarterly goals, and providing guidance and training to teams. The ideal candidate must be based out of Denver, Colorado.
How you’ll make a difference:
- Manage multiple markets (AZ,NV,NM,MT,CO), lead and manage sales, oversee the sales team and the distribution partner relationship
- Responsible for developing, managing, forecasting, and driving regional revenue through the annual AOP (Annual Operating Plan), including full budget ownership and accountability. Works cross-functionally through internal teams to set and achieve goals, while collaborating with and motivating distribution partners to execute strategies and deliver against revenue targets.
- Ensure development and execution of differentiated market strategies for each market through support of each market’s core team including the following activities:
- Identify product launch needs and support roll-out of all new product launches in all markets.
- Evaluate opportunities for growth within each market and make recommendations for key initiatives.
- Understand and monitor individual competitor pricing and promotional strategies; make recommendations regarding pricing adjustments as needed.
- Develop key account strategy in all partner states and build relationships with buyers and other influencers within key accounts.
- Develop and manage promotional and discount strategies with partners.
- Develop competitive intelligence system for uncovering and sharing market information with internal and external team members.
- Own P&L and budgets for states within their region. Lead teams to meet budgets and exceed revenue goals.
- Work closely with Regional Field Trade and Marketing Managers and sales teams to identify store activations, store visits, visual execution, event and training needs and build out a plan to meet those needs.
- The ideal candidate must be based out of Denver, Colorado with travel expectation 50%.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has supervisory responsibility in the Sales department and has direct report(s). This employee has the authority to hire and fire other employees, or this employee’s suggestions and recommendations as to the hiring, firing, advancement, promotion, or any other change of status of other employees are given particular weight.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 3+ years of people management experience, with a proven ability to lead, model, train, mentor, motivate and develop high-performing teams on vendor partner relationships and consultative selling methods.
- The ideal candidate must be based out of Denver, Colorado.
- Experience and knowledge of selling premium quality grade products and managing a broad portfolio of products.
- Data driven and experience with different sales and data systems.
- Prior cannabis sales experience preferred
- Prior management experience
- Prior CPG experience with strong analytical experience

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

This position will frequently work in the field traveling to dispensaries, pop-up events, and other marketing and promotional events. The ability to drive the company sprinter van, sometimes long distances, is required. This position will work 80% in the field traveling to dispensaries, pop-up events, and other marketing and promotional events. Must have access to a secure home office-type environment with use of computers, virtual meetings, internet, email, and phone.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively. The employee frequently is required to set up heavy equipment, move boxes, and other materials as needed. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds. Lift and carry folding tables, bins of merchandise, tents, and banners. Must be able to stand and talk with others for up to 4 hours at a time. Must have ability to travel using own transportation, occasionally for long distances.
