Job Summary

The Regional Manager of Diagnostic Imaging Operations is responsible for the performance, staffing, quality, compliance, and daily operations of five outpatient imaging locations. This role provides consistent leadership across MRI, CT, X-ray, Ultrasound, and other applicable imaging services while supporting each location’s individual operational needs.

The Regional Manager works closely with site leadership, technologists, radiologists, scheduling, billing, and executive leadership to standardize workflows, improve patient access, manage staffing coverage, and ensure each location meets company expectations for safety, service, productivity, and patient care.

Key ResponsibilitiesRegional Operations Leadership

• Oversee daily imaging operations across five outpatient locations.
• Provide leadership and direction to site managers, supervisors, imaging technologists, and support staff.
• Maintain a consistent operational structure while addressing the individual needs of each location.
• Conduct regular site visits and remain visible and accessible to employees and leadership.
• Ensure locations are appropriately staffed based on patient volume, equipment availability, and service needs.
• Coordinate regional coverage for call-outs, vacancies, extended hours, and changes in volume.
• Identify operational concerns early and develop clear plans for resolution.
• Ensure leadership directives, policies, and workflow changes are implemented consistently across all locations.

Imaging Services Oversight

• Provide regional oversight for MRI, CT, X-ray, Ultrasound, and other applicable imaging services.
• Ensure imaging protocols, quality standards, and safety procedures are consistently followed.
• Oversee MRI safety requirements and imaging-specific compliance programs.
• Partner with radiologists and clinical leadership regarding protocols, image quality, workflow concerns, and service improvements.
• Monitor exam backlogs, report turnaround times, equipment downtime, and patient access.
• Ensure imaging services operate efficiently while maintaining patient safety and clinical quality.

Staffing & Performance Management

• Develop staffing models and schedules that support patient volume across all five locations.
• Work with HR and recruiting to identify staffing needs and support hiring efforts.
• Supervise, coach, and evaluate site leaders and applicable imaging personnel.
• Set clear performance expectations and ensure concerns are addressed promptly and consistently.
• Support employee retention, leadership development, and succession planning.
• Promote accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and consistent communication across locations.

Quality, Compliance & Patient Experience

• Ensure compliance with ACR requirements and all applicable state, federal, and accreditation standards.
• Maintain readiness for inspections, audits, and accreditation reviews.
• Monitor licensure, certifications, competencies, and required safety training.
• Lead quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives across the region.
• Review patient complaints, safety concerns, incident reports, and service issues.
• Ensure appropriate corrective action and follow-up are completed.
• Monitor patient satisfaction and implement service-recovery plans when needed.

Financial & Performance Management

• Monitor regional budgets, labor expenses, overtime, supply usage, and operational costs.
• Track key performance indicators for each location, including:
• Patient volume
• Equipment utilization
• Scheduling capacity
• Wait times
• Productivity
• Overtime
• Cancellations and no-shows
• Patient satisfaction
• Quality and safety results
• Identify performance gaps and create measurable improvement plans.
• Partner with leadership on capital planning, equipment purchases, maintenance, and vendor management.
• Support growth initiatives, expanded hours, increased imaging access, and new service lines.

Standardization & Process Improvement

• Develop and maintain consistent regional workflows, policies, and operating procedures.
• Evaluate differences between locations and implement best practices across the region.
• Improve coordination between imaging, scheduling, front-office, billing, and clinical teams.
• Ensure changes are communicated clearly and implemented successfully.
• Use operational data and employee feedback to improve efficiency and patient flow.

Collaboration & Communication

• Serve as the primary connection between imaging locations and corporate leadership.
• Partner with radiologists, physicians, operations, HR, scheduling, billing, IT, and compliance.
• Provide leadership with regular updates regarding staffing, performance, safety, equipment, and operational concerns.
• Lead regional meetings and ensure site leaders remain aligned on expectations and priorities.
• Participate in strategic planning, performance reviews, audits, and expansion initiatives.

Training & Staff Development

• Ensure imaging employees maintain required licenses, certifications, and competencies.
• Standardize onboarding and training across all five locations.
• Identify training needs and coordinate continuing education.
• Develop site leaders and prepare employees for future supervisory responsibilities.
• Promote education related to imaging protocols, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and customer service.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of five years of outpatient diagnostic imaging experience.
• Minimum of two years of imaging leadership or operations management experience.
• Experience overseeing multiple locations, departments, or imaging service lines.
• Strong knowledge of imaging regulations, accreditation standards, and outpatient operations.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly among all five locations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous regional or multisite imaging leadership experience.
• Experience managing MRI, CT, X-ray, and Ultrasound operations.
• Experience with ACR accreditation and imaging safety programs.
• Experience managing high-volume outpatient imaging centers.
• Experience with budgeting, performance metrics, staffing models, and operational growth.

Work Environment & Schedule

• Schedule may include early mornings, evenings, or occasional weekends based on operational needs.
• Must remain available to respond to urgent staffing, equipment, safety, and patient-care concerns across the region.

Pay: From $90,000.00 per year
