Strategy Operations Manager Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a strategy operations manager in Texas?
Most strategy operations manager roles in Texas require a bachelor's degree in business administration, operations, or a related discipline, with an MBA increasingly preferred at mid-senior levels. Texas does not issue a state license for this role, so hiring decisions hinge on demonstrated experience, analytical skills, and leadership ability. Candidates who hold a Project Management Professional certification or a Lean Six Sigma credential from an accredited body stand out in competitive Texas markets.
How much do strategy operations managers make in Texas?
Strategy operations managers in Texas earn a median of about $103,230 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $46,190 for the lowest 10% to over $264,620 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire strategy operations managers in Texas?
Employers hiring strategy operations managers in Texas right now include HP, Apple, and Equinix, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's concentration of Fortune 500 headquarters in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and large energy and technology employers in Houston and Austin generates consistent demand for this role year-round.
Which Texas cities have the most strategy operations manager jobs?
Austin, Dallas, and Houston have the most strategy operations manager openings in Texas. Dallas-Fort Worth leads because of its dense cluster of corporate headquarters in financial services, logistics, and technology, while Houston's energy sector and Austin's fast-growing technology industry each drive substantial hiring, including roles at large companies with regional operations centers in those metros.
Are there remote strategy operations manager jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields, reflecting how much of the work centers on analysis, stakeholder communication, and program coordination that can be done off-site. About 38% of strategy operations manager openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, making it one of the more flexible roles in the business operations category. Planning and reporting functions tend to offer the most remote flexibility, while roles that require on-site executive presence or operational oversight are more likely to be in-person.
How can I get hired as a strategy operations manager in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a business operations analyst or project coordinator role at a large Texas employer, then moving laterally once you have demonstrated project ownership. Companies such as Dell Technologies, AT&T, and major health systems like HCA Houston Healthcare run rotational business analyst and operations associate programs that recruit recent graduates. Building a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification through an accredited Texas provider strengthens an early-career application considerably.
