Job Summary
Success in this position will be driven by a collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset, a commitment to legal excellence, and the ability to build constructive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. The legal counsel will play a critical role in enabling Arch’s investments to optimize deal execution, manage legal risks, and maintain best-in-class operational and legal standards across its growing portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Review and negotiate a variety of documents with respect to private markets transactions, including limited partnership agreements, side letters, investment management agreements;
- Collaborate with investment professionals, business-segment legal and other stakeholders to support portfolio construction and ongoing monitoring of investments.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with internal partners (legal, risk, compliance, investments, senior management) and external constituencies (outside counsel, managers).
- Assist with general corporate matters, including fund operations, entity management, governance, contract review, and regulatory analysis
- Advisory Support: Provide guidance to investment teams on compliance policies, regulatory requirements, and risk considerations.
- Corporate housekeeping. Take minutes, serve as secretary, maintain corporate documents.
- Maintain and enhance compliance program ensuring consistency with Group level compliance policies.
Qualifications
- Legal Excellence: 8-10 years of relevant experience, preferably including in the legal department of an asset management firm; JD and admission in good standing to a US jurisdiction.
- Stakeholder Management: Demonstrated ability to navigate complexity and drive consensus as well as build and nurture relationships with internal and external stakeholders including but not limited to regulators and business partners.
- Action Orientation: Self-starter with attention to detail,
- Business Partnership: Ability to contribute as a collaborative lawyer and business partner who understands balancing risk with organizational growth and realization of commercial goals. Excellent judgment; ability to proactively and pragmatically move with the pace of the business.
- Presence & Interpersonal Style: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships. Ability to represent the company with high credibility. Strong communication skills and executive presence.
For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.
For NYC & DC: $200,634 - $271,446/year
Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
