Registered Dental Assistant Jobs in Missouri: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a registered dental assistant in Missouri?
To become a registered dental assistant in Missouri, you must register with the Missouri Dental Board. Most candidates complete an accredited dental assisting program, then pass a competency examination before applying for registration. Missouri also requires dental assistants who take radiographs to hold a separate Missouri radiography certificate, which involves coursework and a board-approved exam. Some candidates qualify through documented on-the-job training combined with the required radiography credential.
Which companies hire registered dental assistants in Missouri?
Employers hiring registered dental assistants in Missouri right now include Enable Dental, Big Smiles, and Jet Dental, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Missouri's mix of large corporate dental groups, independent private practices, and federally qualified health centers means steady openings across experience levels throughout the state.
Which Missouri cities have the most registered dental assistant jobs?
The Missouri cities with the most registered dental assistant openings are St. Louis, Kansas City, and Ladue. Kansas City and St. Louis dominate because of their large population bases, concentration of corporate dental group offices, and established community health center networks, while Springfield anchors demand in southwest Missouri as the region's largest healthcare and commercial hub.
Are there remote registered dental assistant jobs in Missouri?
Yes, but they're rare. Registered dental assistant work is hands-on and chair-side by nature, so the vast majority of positions require in-person attendance at a dental office. About 0% of registered dental assistant openings tied to Missouri are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those roles are typically limited to dental insurance coordination or administrative support functions rather than clinical chairside duties.
How can I get hired as a registered dental assistant in Missouri with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is completing an accredited dental assisting certificate program at a Missouri community college, such as those offered at State Technical College of Missouri or Metropolitan Community College in Kansas City, then applying to corporate dental groups like Heartland Dental that actively recruit new graduates. Entry-level sterilization technician and dental receptionist roles at group practices also serve as common stepping stones. Obtaining your Missouri radiography certificate before applying gives candidates a measurable edge over those without it.
Where can I find and apply to registered dental assistant jobs in Missouri?
You can find and apply to registered dental assistant jobs in Missouri on Migrate Mate, which lists current Missouri openings from employers across the state. Search the listings, find the roles that fit your credentials and preferred location, and apply directly to the ones that match your experience.
