At Veracity, we aim to be a different kind of insurance partner – one that is free from outside investors, venture capital, or the pressures of a corporate parent.
Ours is a culture of empowerment – one that believes in effort, results, and accountability. We believe that transparency fosters trust, trust fosters growth, and that growth drives innovation. Our commitment to rigorous evaluation and relentless execution lead to rapid evolution.
We answer only to the small business owners we serve, and this independence allows us to stay focused on what matters most: helping their businesses thrive by providing expert guidance and best-in-class insurance policies.
We’re growing fast and want you to be a part of it!
We're seeking an experienced and technically sharp Commercial Lines Practice Lead to join our remote team. Reporting to the VP of Professional Development, this is a founding role within Veracity's retail division – one of the first senior insurance professionals to shape a retail model that doesn't exist yet.
Veracity is not a traditional agency experimenting with technology. We've already proven a better distribution model exists – over $40M in online premium is the evidence. Now we're applying that same thinking to retail, and we're building it from scratch with the intention of proving it, systematizing it, and scaling it across our entire retail operation. This individual will serve as the technical authority for one or more commercial lines product families, defining how we bring those risks to market and ensuring the knowledge architecture you build becomes the foundation our AI and technology team scales on top of.
If you want to build something that doesn't exist yet – this is the right opportunity. What you build here will define how we distribute commercial insurance for the next decade.
Key Responsibilities
- Define coverage standards and market approach for each class of business within your product family
- Serve as the final technical reference for complex risk placement, carrier selection, and coverage questions across the retail channel
- Identify coverage gaps and completion needs across our customer base and develop strategies to address them
- Review product materials, agent-facing content, and marketing collateral for regulatory accuracy and E&O exposure before distribution
- Monitor changes in carrier guidelines and market standards that affect your product family and ensure distribution practices remain compliant
- Serve as the internal compliance voice for your product family in cross-functional conversations
- Serve as the primary on-demand technical resource for the agent channel — the person agents reach when a risk is unfamiliar or a placement is complex
- Develop training programs, proficiency benchmarks, and reference tools that elevate agent performance across your product family
- Build the knowledge frameworks that our AI and technology team will use to create scalable agent support tools
- Work alongside our marketing team to develop accurate, compelling product content and campaign strategy for each class of business in your family
- Partner with program managers on new product launches, capacity negotiations, and carrier relationship management within your product family
- Serve as the insurance voice in cross-functional planning conversations, ensuring technical accuracy across product development, marketing, and distribution
- Work directly with our AI and automation team to translate your expertise into scalable technology solutions, workflow automations, intelligent lead routing, and agent support tools
- Serve as the technical knowledge source that our systems team builds on top of, ensuring the intelligence we encode is accurate and commercially sound
- Required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned
Requirements and Qualifications
- 7+ years of P&C insurance experience with genuine breadth across commercial lines – GL, PL, Property, and related lines
- MGA, carrier, wholesale broker, or E&S underwriting background strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate unfamiliar risks and develop subject matter expertise independently – you don't wait for a manual
- Strong working knowledge of compliance considerations, regulatory requirements, coverage adequacy standards, and E&O risk
- Experience developing others – formally through training programs or informally as the person colleagues brought hard questions to
- Ability to translate complex insurance concepts clearly for marketing, technology, and operations teams without losing technical precision
- Comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-moving, build-from-scratch environment
- Genuine curiosity about the intersection of insurance expertise and technology
- CIC, CPCU, AU, AINS, or similar designation preferred
Perks
- Health, dental, and vision plans
- Amazing work-life balance with 4 weeks of Paid Time Off
- 10 Paid Company Holidays with 2 floating holidays
- 401K Programs with employer match
- Personal assistance programs for support in a healthy personal and work life

Tips for Your Remote Commercial Lead Job Search
Prove async deal management in your application
Remote commercial lead employers want evidence you can run a full sales cycle without in-person meetings. Describe specific deals you closed using video calls, written proposals, and CRM-driven follow-up rather than listing responsibilities in general terms.
Apply early to remote roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists remote commercial lead openings from across the U.S. in one place, so you can find roles that match your sector and deal complexity and apply directly without sorting through mixed location listings.
Build a visible async communication record
Remote employers screen for written clarity before interviews. Craft your outreach, cover note, and any pre-screen responses as if they are work samples, because commercial leads at distributed companies communicate in writing throughout every deal stage.
Target remote-first companies in your pipeline sector
Remote commercial lead roles concentrate at companies built around distributed teams, not those that added remote as a policy. Search for organizations where the entire revenue team works remotely, so the role isn't the exception and onboarding is designed for it.
Prepare remote interview scenarios around self-direction
Remote commercial lead interviews almost always include a scenario about managing a stalled deal or rebuilding pipeline without manager guidance. Practice structured answers that show how you set priorities, use CRM data, and escalate decisions when working independently.
Remote Commercial Lead Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a remote commercial lead job?
Target remote-first companies and distributed sales organizations, where commercial leads manage deal cycles entirely through async tools and video calls. Remote employers screen heavily for self-direction, clear written communication, and the ability to run pipeline reviews without in-person oversight. A documented history of closing complex deals independently, familiarity with CRM-driven workflows, and strong async communication habits give candidates a clear edge.
Which companies hire remote commercial leads?
Remote commercial lead roles are posted by GEICO, FCT, and Jacuzzi and others right now, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Remote-first SaaS companies, distributed professional services firms, and enterprise technology organizations are the most consistent hirers of commercial leads in fully remote structures.
Can you get a remote commercial lead job with no experience?
Yes, but remote entry-level commercial lead roles are harder to land because employers expect you to manage deals independently from day one with minimal hand-holding. Early-career candidates do best targeting remote-first startups or inside sales teams that build commercial leads from within. Showing strong written communication, a structured self-learning approach, and any results from internships or contract sales work opens the door.
Do you need a degree for remote commercial lead jobs?
Not always. Remote employers in commercial lead hiring weigh demonstrated deal experience, CRM proficiency, and a verifiable track of revenue contributions more heavily than formal credentials. A degree helps in enterprise or regulated sectors, but many remote-first companies treat closed deals, quota attainment records, and strong async communication skills as equivalent evidence of readiness.
Which industries hire the most remote commercial leads?
Most remote commercial lead openings sit in Insurance, Technology & Software, and Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals, per current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. These sectors favor distributed commercial teams because their sales cycles are document-driven and relationship management translates well to async and video-based collaboration.
