Tips for Your Remote Customer Marketing Manager Job Search
Apply early to remote roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists remote customer marketing manager openings from across the U.S. in one place. Search the current roles, find the ones that match your background and target sector, and apply directly before postings close.
Show async communication skills upfront
Remote customer marketing managers run campaigns, coordinate with customer success, and manage stakeholders entirely in writing. Lead your resume and cover letter with examples of async project ownership, Slack-based collaboration, or written campaign briefs that moved cross-functional teams.
Build a visible customer marketing portfolio
Remote hiring managers can't meet you in person, so your work has to speak first. Document retention email sequences, upsell campaign results, customer advocacy programs, or onboarding content you've built, and make the portfolio accessible online before you start applying.
Target remote-first companies by product category
SaaS, fintech, and digital-native e-commerce companies run their customer marketing functions remotely by default. Focusing your search on companies in these categories narrows your list to employers where the remote customer marketing manager role is structurally established, not an experiment.
Remote Customer Marketing Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a remote customer marketing manager job?
Target remote-first companies and distributed product teams, where customer marketing managers own onboarding campaigns, upsell programs, and retention content without ever being in the same room as their stakeholders. Remote employers screen heavily for async written communication, the ability to drive cross-functional projects without in-person follow-up, and hands-on experience with lifecycle email tools and customer advocacy platforms. A portfolio showing measurable retention or expansion results gives you a clear edge.
Which companies hire remote customer marketing managers?
Companies hiring remote customer marketing managers right now include Avalara, Renaissance Learning, and Avetta, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Remote-first SaaS companies, distributed fintech platforms, and e-commerce brands are the most consistent sources of these openings, since their customer bases are already digital and their marketing teams are built to operate across time zones.
Can you get a remote customer marketing manager job with no experience?
Yes, but remote entry-level customer marketing roles are harder to land because you're expected to manage campaigns and customer programs with minimal day-to-day oversight from day one. Smaller remote-first startups and scale-ups are your most realistic entry point. In place of experience, show self-directed projects, freelance lifecycle email work, or volunteer customer advocacy campaigns that demonstrate you can execute and iterate independently without hand-holding.
Do you need a degree for remote customer marketing manager jobs?
Not always. Remote employers in this role weigh demonstrated results over credentials, so a strong portfolio of retention campaigns, upsell programs, or customer reference initiatives can substitute for a degree. That said, many job postings at larger companies list a bachelor's in marketing or a related field as preferred, so pairing real work samples with any relevant certifications in lifecycle marketing or customer success strengthens your application.
