Job Description:
Title: Director, Product Management
Location: Remote (EST or CST). Occasional domestic and/or U.S. travel for in-person events and meetings.
Why This Role Exists
At Phreesia, we're transforming the healthcare experience through intelligent technology that helps patients connect with care more easily and helps providers operate more efficiently.
As a Director of Product Management, you'll lead our portfolio of payment collection and processing solutions, shaping the strategy, execution, and evolution of products that help healthcare organizations achieve stronger financial outcomes. In this leadership role, you'll help modernize patient payments, improve collections, reduce friction, and shape the future of how millions of patients pay for care.
Success in this role requires equal parts vision, leadership, and execution. You'll lead and develop a talented team of Product Managers, partner directly with customers to understand their biggest challenges, and collaborate with leaders across the organization to deliver products that drive meaningful business outcomes. We're looking for a thoughtful, strategic leader who enjoys solving complex problems and isn't afraid to get into the weeds; someone who makes data-informed decisions and fosters an environment where teams can do their best work.
What You’ll Spend Your Time Doing
Lead a product team to ensure the overall success of a portfolio of payment applications including point of service collections, card on file, statements and payment plans.
Be a product champion within our company and for our clients.
Work with the executive team to set the vision and strategy for the payment product suite.
Drive product go-to-market strategies and execute on these plans with the support of marketing and client solutions colleagues.
Build business cases for new products and feature enhancements by collaborating with engineering, marketing, sales, and operations groups.
Analyze competition and determine features and positioning to offer best in class products to our customers.
Track product and business metrics to drive outcomes.
What Makes You a Great Fit
You don’t need to check every box — but this role will feel energizing if you have:
Demonstrated leadership abilities, including hiring, mentoring and team management.
Ability to set a product vision and strategy and to translate it into a concrete product roadmap.
Experience in developing and launching successful payment processing applications or similar applications.
Experience in leading platform-as-a-service products, prioritizing and building APIs that empower and support other internal teams.
Experience in the payments industry, or with a payment solution, including online/ecommerce, card present/POS, and recurring/card on file payments.
Experience with creating and integrating to payment APIs/SDKs, including hosted payment options, NFC/EMV, and P2PE is a plus.
Ability to thrive under pressure and function effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Deep interest in user experience, creating and analyzing products.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
We Do Have A Few Requirements To Check
Bachelor's degree required.
8+ years of product management experience, preferably in healthcare in a high-growth B2B SaaS environment using an Agile development methodology

Tips for Your Remote Product Director Job Search
Apply early to remote roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists remote product director openings from across the U.S. in one place, so you can find roles that match your background and apply directly. Remote roles at well-known distributed companies fill fast, so applying in the first few days matters.
Show async communication skills upfront
Remote employers screen product directors for written clarity before anything else. Lead your resume and cover letter with examples of async decision-making: product specs you wrote, PRDs that aligned distributed teams, or Slack-based roadmap updates that moved work forward without meetings.
Build a portfolio of shipped remote work
A documented product portfolio showing decisions made, team structures coordinated, and outcomes achieved across distributed teams signals readiness for remote leadership. Include the tools you used, like Notion, Figma, and Linear, and the process you ran, not just the outcome.
Target remote-first companies by product model
Remote product director roles concentrate at companies built around async-first culture: fully distributed SaaS firms, open-source-backed product companies, and global fintech platforms. Filtering for these company types narrows your search to employers with the infrastructure and culture to support remote product leadership.
Remote Product Director Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a remote product director job?
Remote product director roles go to candidates who can demonstrate self-direction, clear async written communication, and the ability to align distributed engineering and design teams without in-person oversight. Remote-first SaaS companies and distributed tech firms are the most active hirers. A strong product portfolio showing shipped outcomes, experience with tools like Jira, Notion, and Confluence, and a history of leading cross-functional teams remotely gives candidates a clear edge.
Which companies hire remote product directors?
Companies hiring remote product directors right now include CVS Health, Oscar Health, and BlackRock, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Remote-first technology firms and distributed SaaS companies make up the largest share of these openings, with additional demand from healthcare technology and fintech organizations running globally distributed product teams.
Can you get a remote product director job with no experience?
Yes, but remote entry-level product director roles are harder to land because employers expect you to operate independently from day one without in-person mentorship. The strongest entry paths are associate product manager roles at remote-first startups, product ops positions on distributed teams, or contract work on a defined product area. Demonstrating async communication skills and a documented side project or case study can open doors when a formal title is missing.
Do you need a degree for remote product director jobs?
Not always. Remote employers weigh a demonstrable history of shipped products, measurable business impact, and cross-functional leadership over a specific degree field. A portfolio showing product decisions, outcomes, and stakeholder alignment carries more weight than credentials alone. That said, some enterprise and regulated-industry employers list a bachelor's degree as a baseline requirement, so it remains worth noting on applications where it applies.
Which industries hire the most remote product directors?
The sectors hiring the most remote product directors are Technology & Software, Insurance, and Healthcare & Medical Services, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. These industries rely on distributed product teams to move quickly across multiple time zones, which makes remote product director roles a structural need rather than an exception.
