ROLE SUMMARY
The Salesforce Architect, Patient Services is a hands-on senior individual contributor responsible for the end-to-end solution architecture of Patient Services engagements built on Salesforce Health Cloud and Life Sciences Cloud. The architect owns data model, security, integration, and portal design across the Patient Services lifecycle—enrollment, benefits verification, hub case management, adherence, field reimbursement, and patient/HCP engagement. This role is deeply technical: the architect personally designs the solution, writes and reviews code where appropriate, leads architecture workshops with client stakeholders, and ensures quality and scalability across configuration, Apex, LWC, and integration layers. The role partners closely with BAs, developers, QA, validation, and engagement leads to translate clinical and commercial requirements into pragmatic, validated solutions. Limited travel 10% or less. Fully remote.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as lead Salesforce architect on Patient Services engagements, owning end-to-end solution design across Salesforce Health Cloud and Life Sciences Cloud (Patient Services), with extension into Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Data Cloud / Data 360, and MuleSoft as needed
- Design and validate solution architecture for Patient Services use cases, including patient enrollment and onboarding, benefits verification, prior authorization, copay and financial assistance, hub case management, adherence and refill, field reimbursement, nurse case management, and patient/caregiver engagement
- Own data model design across Health Cloud and Life Sciences Cloud Patient Services objects (Care Programs, Care Program Enrollees, Care Program Products, Care Plans, Care Requests, etc.), ensuring scalable, extensible, and platform-aligned implementations
- Design security, sharing, and PHI handling architecture, including role hierarchy, sharing rules, restriction rules, field-level security, encryption, and audit logging appropriate for HIPAA and regulated patient data
- Architect integrations across the Patient Services ecosystem, including specialty pharmacy, hub vendors, EHR/EMR, payer and clearinghouse, benefits verification, copay vendors, and patient-facing channels (SMS, email, portal, IVR)
- Design HCP and patient portal experiences on Experience Cloud, including authentication, authorization, identity, and patient/caregiver delegation patterns
- Provide hands-on technical leadership across configuration, Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flow, and integration design—reviewing code, design artifacts, and platform decisions to ensure quality and scalability
- Lead technical discovery and architecture workshops with client stakeholders across patient services operations, IT, security, and compliance
- Translate business and clinical requirements into pragmatic, validated solution designs, balancing platform best practice with delivery realities
- Author solution architecture documentation, including data model diagrams, integration architecture, security model, environment strategy, and architecture decision records (ADRs)
- Partner with BAs, developers, QA, and validation leads to ensure solution designs are buildable, testable, and (where applicable) validatable under GxP and 21 CFR Part 11 considerations
- Mentor developers, junior architects, and BAs on Health Cloud, Life Sciences Cloud, and Patient Services patterns, including design reviews, code reviews, and technical coaching
- Support presales and solutioning for Patient Services pursuits, including level-of-effort estimation, SOW input, response to RFx, and client architecture presentations
- Stay current on the Salesforce HLS roadmap (Life Sciences Cloud, Health Cloud, Agentforce for HLS, Data Cloud) and translate platform direction into recommendations for clients and internal Slipstream investment
- Contribute to Slipstream’s Patient Services accelerators, reference architectures, and reusable assets to improve delivery speed and quality across engagements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of Salesforce ecosystem experience, including 4+ years in a hands-on Salesforce architect role
- Required pharma, biotech, healthcare, or life sciences industry experience, with direct delivery experience on Patient Services, Patient Support Programs (PSPs), or Hub Services use cases

- Required Salesforce architect certification: Application Architect or System Architect (or active CTA pursuit). Component certifications such as Data Architect, Sharing & Visibility Architect, Integration Architect, or Identity & Access Management Architect are accepted toward this track
- Required Salesforce Platform Developer II (Sr. Developer) certification

- Strong experience designing integrations across Salesforce, MuleSoft (or comparable iPaaS), EHR/EMR, specialty pharmacy, hub vendors, payer/clearinghouse, and patient-facing channels
- Strong understanding of PHI, HIPAA, consent, and regulated delivery practices, including documentation quality, traceability, and change control
- Strong experience designing Experience Cloud (formerly Community Cloud) portals, including authentication, identity, sharing, and delegated access patterns
- Experience leading client-facing technical workstreams, including running architecture workshops, presenting to executive stakeholders, and managing technical scope and risk

Tips for Your Remote Salesforce Solution Architect Job Search
Apply early to remote roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists remote salesforce solution architect openings from across the U.S. in one place, so you can find roles that match your certifications and apply directly without sorting through unrelated listings.
Document your architecture decisions in writing
Remote employers can't watch you whiteboard a solution, so written architecture decision records, integration diagrams, and data model documentation become your proof of expertise. Share these as a portfolio attachment in your application materials.
Prepare for async-first interview formats
Many distributed teams use asynchronous technical screenings, including recorded Loom walkthroughs or written design exercises, before any live call. Practice narrating a solution design out loud and writing clear discovery questions to demonstrate you can communicate across time zones.
Highlight cross-cloud integration experience prominently
Remote salesforce solution architect roles frequently involve connecting Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and external systems without in-room collaboration. Listing specific integration patterns you've architected, such as REST APIs, Platform Events, or MuleSoft flows, signals to remote hiring teams that you can lead complex projects independently.
Set up a home environment that signals professionalism
Remote interviews and client-facing sessions are conducted on video, and your background, audio, and lighting become part of your first impression. A clean setup with a reliable headset and stable connection removes friction that can otherwise distract decision-makers from your technical answers.
Remote Salesforce Solution Architect Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a remote salesforce solution architect job?
Target companies that run distributed engineering or CRM teams, since those employers already know how to manage remote solution architects and hire for it regularly. Remote-first firms screen heavily for async written communication, the ability to run discovery sessions over video, and self-directed project management. Certifications like Salesforce Certified Application Architect or System Architect demonstrate technical depth, while a portfolio of documented solution designs gives hiring managers concrete evidence you can deliver without daily in-person oversight.
Which companies hire remote salesforce solution architects?
Remote salesforce solution architect roles are posted by Neuraflash, Slipstream IT, and OTIS and others right now, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. The employers hiring for this role remotely are typically remote-first technology firms, large distributed enterprises in financial services and healthcare, and consulting partners that staff architects across client accounts without requiring a fixed office location.
Can you get a remote salesforce solution architect job with no experience?
Yes, but remote entry-level positions are limited because you're expected to operate independently from day one without an in-person mentor nearby. Smaller remote-first consulting firms and nonprofits are the most realistic starting points. Salesforce Trailhead superbadges, a publicly documented personal org, or a volunteer implementation project can substitute for paid experience and show remote employers you can scope and execute work on your own.
Do you need a degree for remote salesforce solution architect jobs?
Not always. Remote employers in this role weight Salesforce credentials, particularly the Architect-track certifications, alongside evidence of delivered implementations far more heavily than a specific degree. Candidates who can show architecture diagrams, integration decisions, and measurable outcomes from past projects consistently advance through remote hiring processes regardless of their educational background.
Which industries hire the most remote salesforce solution architects?
The sectors hiring the most remote salesforce solution architects are Technology & Software and Manufacturing, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. These industries rely on distributed CRM and revenue operations teams that need architects who can design, configure, and govern Salesforce environments without being tied to a single office location.
