Tips for Your Remote Epic Systems Analyst Job Search
Certify in your core Epic module
Epic certification in your primary module, such as Resolute, Cadence, or Beaker, is a concrete differentiator. Employers filter for module-specific experience, so name every certification you hold and the version you tested on in your resume header.
Translate build work into outcome statements
Listing 'built workflows in Epic' won't stand out. Reframe your resume bullets around what changed after your build work, like reduced registration time, improved charge capture rates, or cut downtime during upgrades. Hiring managers respond to outcomes, not tasks.
Target postings that name your build environment
Postings that list a specific module, such as Willow, MyChart, or Clarity, signal the team knows exactly what they need. Prioritize those over vague 'EHR analyst' listings, since your module depth is your strongest qualification.
Apply early to roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists epic systems analyst openings from across the United States in one place, so you can find roles that match and apply directly to each listing.
Prepare for a live build or workflow exercise
Many Epic analyst interviews include a live scenario where you walk through how you'd approach a workflow problem or configuration task. Practice narrating your decision-making aloud, since interviewers are evaluating your process, not just whether you get the answer right.
Negotiate using total compensation, not just base
Epic analyst roles at health systems often include shift differentials, on-call pay for go-live support, and continuing education budgets for recertification. Ask about all of these before accepting any offer, since they can meaningfully change the value of two otherwise similar positions.

Yes, but it is harder than an on-site role, because remote work expects you to operate independently from the start. Entry-level remote epic systems analyst openings do exist, especially at remote-first companies, and a portfolio of real work helps more than a long resume. Applying broadly to the roles that fit improves your odds.
