Tips for Your Remote Insurance Account Manager Job Search
Apply early to remote roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists remote insurance account manager openings from across the U.S. in one place, so you can find roles that match your lines of authority and apply directly before postings fill. Remote roles at established agencies attract high volume quickly.
Lead with your agency management system fluency
Remote insurance employers can't watch you work, so they hire on demonstrated tool proficiency. Call out your Applied Epic, Vertafore, or HawkSoft experience by name in your resume and cover letter, and specify the tasks you handled in each system.
Show async communication as a core competency
Remote account managers own client relationships entirely through written and video channels. Include examples of how you've managed renewals, coverage reviews, or claims follow-ups via email or messaging without needing in-person contact. Concrete examples close the credibility gap fast.
Quantify your book of business and retention
Remote hiring managers can't observe your day-to-day, so your numbers do the talking. State your book size, your renewal retention rate, and any cross-sell or upsell results directly in your resume. Specifics replace the trust that an in-office environment builds naturally.
Remote Insurance Account Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a remote insurance account manager job?
Target carriers, managing general agents, and independent agencies that have already built distributed service teams, since those employers have the workflows and technology to onboard remote staff successfully. Remote hiring managers screen hard for self-direction, clear written communication, and comfort with agency management systems like Applied Epic or Vertafore. Candidates who can demonstrate autonomous client retention work and proactive policy review habits consistently stand out.
Which companies hire remote insurance account managers?
Companies hiring remote insurance account managers right now include State Farm, PLNAR, and GEICO, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Remote-first carriers, national brokerages with distributed service centers, and specialty MGAs are the most consistent sources of fully remote insurance account manager openings.
Can you get a remote insurance account manager job with no experience?
Yes, but remote entry-level roles are harder to land because employers expect you to manage client relationships and policy renewals independently from day one. Digital-first agencies and insurtech carriers are the most likely to hire remote candidates at the junior level. Holding a P&C or L&H license before applying, and showing experience with client-facing communication in any industry, opens the door when direct insurance experience is thin.
Do you need a degree for remote insurance account manager jobs?
Not always. Remote employers in insurance weight active state licensure, agency management system proficiency, and a demonstrated ability to retain and service accounts far more heavily than a degree. Candidates who can show clean renewal ratios, cross-sell results, or client satisfaction history from prior roles routinely move forward without a four-year degree, especially at independent agencies and MGAs.
Which industries hire the most remote insurance account managers?
Most remote insurance account manager openings sit in Insurance, Construction & Real Estate, and Consulting & Professional Services, per current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Those sectors rely on distributed service teams to cover large books of business across multiple time zones without requiring staff to be in a single office.
