ABOUT U.S. ENERGY FOUNDATION
U.S. Energy Foundation’s (USEF) mission is to secure a clean and equitable energy future to tackle the climate crisis. We envision a healthy, safe, and equitable economy powered by clean energy. We believe a thriving clean energy economy can create sustainable opportunities, spur innovation, and protect our climate—for today and future generations.
USEF supports education and analysis to promote nonpartisan policy solutions that advance renewable energy and energy efficiency, while opening doors to greater innovation and productivity—growing the economy with dramatically less pollution. For more than 30 years, USEF has supported grantees to help educate policymakers and the general public about the benefits of a clean energy economy. Our grantees include business, health, environmental, labor, equity, community, faith, and consumer groups, as well as policy experts, think tanks, universities, and more.
We are working daily to create equitable systems that support people to flourish. We aim to bring humility, transparency, respect, and an appreciation for others’ lived experiences to our interactions with colleagues, grantees, and partners.
USEF’s Fundraising Philosophy
As USEF’s primary clients and partners are our funders and grantees, USEF commits to acting as a strategic thought leader for our current and prospective funding partners and the field by:
- Collaborating—and co-creating, where feasible and desired—on strategy development, including hosting and/or managing funder collaboratives
- Highlighting the opportunity for climate philanthropy to maximize benefits to disadvantaged communities and those most impacted by climate change
- Offering excellent, responsive service by providing proactive, compelling, and timely updates and information
USEF is headquartered in San Francisco, California, and our more than 100 staff members are based in locations throughout the Midwest, Northeast, Southeast, and Western regions, where they can best serve our programs, partners, operations, and other functions.
USEF believes that a diverse workforce makes us a more effective organization and is essential for achieving a clean and equitable energy future. We encourage people of all backgrounds to apply.

Tips for Your Remote Senior Director Strategic Partnerships Job Search
Quantify partnership revenue in your resume
Hiring managers for this role want to see the commercial impact of your deals. Replace vague language with concrete outcomes: total contract value generated, partner-sourced revenue as a share of company growth, or the number of strategic alliances you brought from negotiation to close.
Tailor your pitch to the partnership model
A senior director strategic partnerships role at a SaaS company looks very different from one at a health system or media conglomerate. Read the job description for whether they want channel, technology, or co-sell partnerships, and rewrite your summary line to match that exact model before applying.
Target companies at inflection points
Organizations entering new verticals, launching a partner ecosystem for the first time, or preparing for a market expansion hire aggressively at this level. Filter your search for companies that have recently raised a funding round, announced a new product line, or reorganized their go-to-market team.
Apply early to roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists senior director strategic partnerships openings from across the United States in one place, so you can find roles that match and apply directly to each listing.
Prepare a partnership deal narrative for interviews
Interviewers at this level almost always ask you to walk through a significant deal you closed or a partnership you built from scratch. Prepare a two-minute story that covers how you identified the opportunity, structured the agreement, and measured success after launch.
Negotiate scope before accepting an offer
Before you accept, clarify whether the role owns the full partnership lifecycle or only the relationship management phase. Roles that exclude business development or contracting authority limit your impact and your next career move, so get that scope confirmed in writing.
