Title: Senior Enterprise DLP Technical Lead
Position Summary
Own the technical baseline and day-to-day engineering of the IRS enterprise DLP environment, with primary responsibility for Broadcom/Symantec DLP O&M, architecture, production readiness, troubleshooting, and cross-platform technical decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as senior SME for Broadcom/Symantec DLP components, servers, databases, Enforce Server, Email Prevent, Web Prevent, Network Monitor, OCR, and endpoint capabilities.
Lead O&M, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, upgrades, patching, health monitoring, performance optimization, resilience, and disaster-recovery support.
Plan, test, validate, and promote changes through DEV/TEST/PROD while supporting filing-season and high-priority operational constraints.
Develop and tune policies, detection rules, patterns, regular expressions, thresholds, exceptions, enforcement actions, and deployment strategies.
Support DLP incidents and leakage-event analysis; coordinate with administrators, DBAs, security operations, incident responders, and other platform owners.
Lead cross-platform architecture and policy harmonization across Symantec, Purview, Palo Alto, Splunk, and authorized ecosystem technologies.
Produce architecture diagrams, configuration baselines, runbooks, installation/transmittal documentation, test evidence, operational guides, and Government knowledge-transfer materials.
Support rapid acknowledgement/response for high-priority Symantec DLP issues and maintain auditable incident/change records.
Required / Critical Skills
Expert Broadcom/Symantec DLP administration and engineering; Enforce; Email Prevent; Web Prevent; Network Monitor; OCR; endpoint agents; Oracle/database adjacency; server administration; SSL/proxy integration; policy engineering; regex; incident troubleshooting.
Enterprise DLP architecture across data-in-motion, data-at-rest, and data-in-use; high-availability/DR; release/change management; performance engineering.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Purview DLP, Palo Alto Enterprise DLP, Splunk/SIEM, ServiceNow or comparable ticket/change workflows.
Strong technical writing and ability to train Government operators.
CISSP, GIAC, Broadcom/Symantec DLP certification or equivalent product credentials strongly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior federal enterprise DLP experience and production ownership in a large regulated environment.
Experience harmonizing DLP controls across multiple vendors.
Current Public Trust/MBI or clearance; direct IRS/Treasury experience is highly desirable.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent directly relevant experience and advanced industry certifications may be considered, subject to the applicable contract labor-category requirements.
Federal Suitability / Security
Candidate must be able to meet IRS personnel-security and suitability requirements for the position, including the applicable background investigation and required security/privacy training. A current favorably adjudicated federal Public Trust/MBI or other investigation that may qualify for reciprocity is highly desirable.
