DESCRIPTION
Martin Marietta is currently looking for a motivated Mobile Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The individual hired into this position would be responsible for performing mechanical repairs on diesel-powered mobile equipment including troubleshooting and repairs of heavy equipment, rebuilds, removal and installation of mechanical parts, and preventative maintenance on all types of diesel-powered equipment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ability to work safely at all times
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plant mobile equipment including CAT, Komatsu & Volvo quarry/construction equipment/ diesel engines
- Mechanically inclined on a wide variety of hand tools and power tools
- Weld, cut and perform minor fabrication on plant or mobile equipment
- Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED
Vocational training or equivalent experience
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- HS Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 5 years of experience with CAT, Komatsu & Volvo quarry/construction equipment/ diesel engine repairs
- Certification from a trade school is preferred
- A CDL and a clean driving record
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This is a full-time position that regularly requires 40+ hours per week in a surface mine setting. This role frequently operates heavy equipment.

The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
