Respiratory Therapist Jobs in Jacksonville: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a respiratory therapist job in Jacksonville?
Jacksonville's largest health systems, specialty hospitals, and long-term acute care facilities are the strongest hiring grounds for respiratory therapists here. Candidates with critical care or neonatal ICU experience gain an edge in this market, as those units drive significant local demand. Focusing applications on Southside and the Downtown Medical District, where hospital campuses cluster, and building familiarity with high-acuity ventilator management sharpens your competitiveness specifically in Jacksonville.
Which companies hire respiratory therapists in Jacksonville?
Jacksonville respiratory therapist roles are posted by UF Health, Ascension, and HCA Florida Memorial Hospital and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Jacksonville's mix of large regional health systems, specialty hospitals, and home health agencies means openings surface across inpatient, outpatient, and community care settings throughout the metro.
Are there remote respiratory therapist jobs in Jacksonville?
Yes, though most respiratory therapist work is hands-on and facility-based, making fully remote roles rare. About 0% of respiratory therapist openings tied to Jacksonville are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the limited share of desk-based functions like telehealth monitoring, clinical education, or utilization review. Jacksonville-area health networks occasionally post remote positions in those support and coordination areas.
How can I get a respiratory therapist job in Jacksonville with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Jacksonville is through clinical rotations or new-graduate programs at the city's larger hospital systems, which regularly hire entry-level registered respiratory therapists into general medical-surgical and step-down units before moving them into higher-acuity settings. Home health agencies and long-term care facilities in the Jacksonville metro also tend to have more accessible entry-level openings. Completing a Jacksonville-area clinical externship and holding NBRC credentials from day one puts new graduates ahead of the field locally.
