Respiratory Therapist Jobs in Orlando: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a respiratory therapist job in Orlando?
Orlando's largest hiring base sits in its major health systems, particularly the Medical City cluster in Lake Nona and the hospitals concentrated along Orange Avenue downtown. Candidates with adult and pediatric critical care experience or neonatal intensive care credentials tend to move fastest through Orlando hiring pipelines. Targeting Level I and Level II trauma centers in the area, as well as the growing home health and pulmonary rehabilitation programs in surrounding communities like Kissimmee and Sanford, broadens your options considerably.
Which companies hire respiratory therapists in Orlando?
Orlando respiratory therapist roles are posted by Orlando Health, AdventHealth Orlando, and Select Specialty Hospital and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. The Orlando market is anchored by large not-for-profit health systems and specialty hospitals, alongside a growing cluster of outpatient and home health providers serving Central Florida's expanding population.
Are there remote respiratory therapist jobs in Orlando?
Yes, though remote work is rare for most respiratory therapist roles given the hands-on, patient-facing nature of the work. About 9% of respiratory therapist openings tied to Orlando are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting that most positions require bedside or clinic presence. The exceptions tend to be telehealth respiratory consultation roles and case management or utilization review positions within Orlando's larger managed care and insurance networks.
How can I get a respiratory therapist job in Orlando with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Orlando is through hospital clinical extern programs or new-graduate residencies at the larger health systems in Lake Nona and the downtown medical district, which regularly onboard candidates completing their RRT credential. Long-term acute care hospitals and post-acute rehabilitation facilities in the greater Orlando area tend to have more openings for early-career therapists than flagship trauma centers. Completing a specialty rotation in neonatal or pediatric care during training noticeably strengthens applications to Orlando pediatric programs.
Which industries hire the most respiratory therapists in Orlando?
Orlando respiratory therapist roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Orlando's rapid population growth, its status as a regional medical hub for Central Florida, and the expansion of Medical City in Lake Nona have sustained consistent hiring pressure across acute care, specialty hospital, and home health segments of the local market.
