How do I get a restaurant manager job in San Jose?
Focus your search on San Jose's highest-density hiring sectors: full-service and upscale dining around Santana Row and Downtown, hotel food and beverage operations near the SAP Center and convention district, and fast-casual chains expanding across Willow Glen and Evergreen. Candidates with hands-on floor experience, a record of hitting labor and food cost targets, and familiarity with high-volume service stand out in this competitive market.
Which companies hire restaurant managers in San Jose?

The local market is anchored by hotel groups, regional dining chains, and independent full-service concepts tied to San Jose's convention, entertainment, and tech-campus dining activity.
Are there remote restaurant manager jobs in San Jose?
Yes, but with significant limits: restaurant management is a hands-on, on-site role by nature, so fully remote positions are rare. About 0% of restaurant manager openings tied to San Jose are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, mostly covering back-of-house administrative functions. The portions most amenable to remote work include scheduling, vendor coordination, and cost reporting.
How can I get a restaurant manager job in San Jose with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in San Jose is moving up from a shift lead or assistant manager role inside one of the city's high-volume fast-casual or hotel dining operations. San Jose employers including convention-area hotels and Santana Row concepts regularly promote from within. Demonstrating ownership of a specific function, such as scheduling or inventory control, accelerates that transition more than a formal credential.
